Resident Evil: Degneration
« on: July 28, 2008, 11:00:53 am »
I'm not even kidding. I checked out the trailer 5 minutes ago, and it was the coolest thing ever. This is going to be better than Paul Anderson's last film he worked on.  ;D http://dvd.ign.com/articles/893/893044p1.html

The trailer has been out for quite some time, but it still looks great (also noticed IGN's videos buffer speed has gone up tremendously).

Hopefully they won't screw this one up, and I'm also excited to see another Tyrant(?)

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

Well Paul Anderson is not involved in this project. I guarantee he won't do jack squat about this.

Fourth Resident Evil movie a possibility, says Paul Anderson
« Reply #3 on: July 29, 2008, 11:29:46 am »
Paul Anderson claims that a fourth film might be possible. He had an MTV interview although there isn't much, but go ahead and read if it fits your interest.

A fourth the the live action movie series right?

If so I'm not extremely excited but at least it's something :-\
Also Milla is awesome, best performance was in the Fifth Element.

There was a third? I haven't been following since the first which was so dire it pretty much put me off the series.

Yes there were a couple of sequels.

First RE, Second RE: Apocalypse, Third RE: Extinction.
The fourth is still unknown title until someone wants to claim the rights as director.

To make a new Resident Evil movie, you simply move to a new location, introduce a plethora of characters despite the fact everyone is supposedly dead in a Zombie Apocalypse (These people will, surprisingly, all be mutant super soldiers). Don't worry about fleshing out the characters; one is a survivor from a previous film (now turned enemy mutant super soldier) the rest are merely mannequins to die in order to show how dangerous the situation is, then the last is the villain who happens to be a mutant super-soldier. Also motorbikes.

So, yeah, The Resident Evil movies are awful; utterly absent of plot or originality, terrible characters and the action scenes are unimpressive.

Resident Evil Degeneration and the fourth live action Resident Evil film have nothing to do with one another.
Why are these topics together?

EDIT: In any case, I want to see Degeneration. I think my dad would love it too as he's a huge fan of Resident Evil.
However, I think everyone can agree that the live action films just blow so freaking bad.
