Red Dwarf

My favourite all time television series.

Who can say they don't like Red Dwarf? Come on, even Stephen Hawking likes RD!

" Starbug was built to last sir. This old baby's crashed more times than a ZX81. "

"Erm, I think we're losing sight of the real issue here, which is 'What are we gonna call ourselves?' Erm, and I think it comes down to a choice between 'The League Against Salivating Monsters' or my own personal preference, which is 'The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society'. Erm, one drawback with that - the abbreviation is 'CLITORIS'."

"Get real man. Most eunuchs have got more balls than you. "

"I've seen Westerns, I know how to speak cowboy."
Steps up to the bar.
"Dry white wine and Perrier, please ."

" Broadcast on all frequencies and all known languages, including Welsh. "

" I'm so gorgeous, there's a six month waiting list for birds to suddenly appear, every time I am near! "

" I am Holly, the ship's computer, with an IQ of 6000. The same IQ as 6000 PE teachers. "

So many little jokes like that, which make this one amazing comedy.

By the way which Holly do you prefer, male or female. I think male Holly is by far funnier.

I'm also a Norman Lovett fan. So yeah most definatly male Holly, he pulls it off so much better.

My favourite character is Cat. Probably because I can relate to most of the cat jokes, and I think his joke delivery is impecable. Plus I have Danny John-Jules' signature!

Hehe I just this moment finished watching series 5 again.

This is one of my most favorate brittish comedies (save Monty Python). Its a shame that its not on more often.
We create reality, reality does not create us. Thus is the question, if we stop beleving in reality, then what are our limitations on pursuing our dreams?

Ah, red dwarf...odd how I just finished watching an episode not less than 20 minutes ago then found this post...

Apparently they're making the movie, then considering making series 9? Well, here's hoping...

"But sir, we've lost Mr.Rimmer!"

I loved the last season they did -- bringing back the old Red Dwarf crew from the dead.  The scripting on that season was FANTASTIC.

I've got DVDs up to series 6... Which I think is all of them for now.
I've borrowed three episodes of video from series 7, with the JFK assassination, the return of Kochanski one, and Duct Soup.
Can anyone tell me where Rimmer went? I'm confused, and a bit miffed since he was my favourite character.

My favouite quote is...
"Rimmer, you know damn well sprouts make me choke."
"Well that's awful, I've got you down for sprouts for almost every day. I tell a lie, it IS every day!"

Quarantine is my favourite ever episode.

I havent seen much, only when i manage to catch it on cable. For ages I though Cat was a vampire for some reason, untill I actually watched the end credits.

One of the best episodes I've seen so far is the backwards episode, when Earth is heading backwards through time or something.

Anyway, yeah, I like it :D

I'm a huge fan of Red Dwarf  ;D
I'm hoping to get myself the DVDs at some point but for now I'm happy watching the repeats on uktv gold.

One of favorite episodes has to be when Lister, Cat and Kachansky are in the Pride and Predigest simulation and kryton gate crashes their tea party in a tank.  :D

Also the episode when the suicide squid makes the crew think that red dwarf is a simulation.

Robert Llewellyn (Kryten) was presenting Scrapheap Challenge before Red Dwarf ended. He also does Scrappy Races now too.
Chris Barrie (Rimmer) is a team captain on Petrolheads (UK car based quizshow)
Craig Charles (Lister) has a BBC 6 Music program (about funk I think)
Don't know what the rest of 'em are up to...

They've been trying to get a movie done for years now, but the producers definatly want to keep the same cast, while all the studios will only do it, if they bring in a new cast.  Doesn't look like they're ever going to get anywhere with it, and some of the cast members are really quite old now anyway, they may have to get some new guys if they want to do it.

Craig Charles is also currently "starring" in Coronation Street.  The last time I saw Danny John-Jules ( Cat ) was in Blade II.  Sure I saw mention of Chris Barrie being in third Tomb Raider movie.

I wish I knew the name of the episode where that creature gets on board and makes all of them fall in love with it so it can suck their brains out, and it disguses itself as Lister and they can only tell the two apart because its acctually good at playing an instrument. Thats my favorite episode... not sure why though...  :-\

There was also a Polymorph II in one of the later series - that's the one with the guitar.

It's not that anyone is offended, it's a matter of posting links to videos of copyrighted material that might be posted illegally. Since this was a TV show, someone owns the copyright and will probably object to YouTube hosting the material. (It comes under rule 9 of the forum.)

I know you spent a lot of time posting it but if anyone is interested a search on YouTube will produce the same thing. So you did help them in a way. :)
