I think we could combine most of it into one really messed up backstory.

how about a veteran mercanary who takes on bone carving. he gets reunited with his lethally injured father, who comes back from a confrontation with the local mega beast; Ach Dwarfbane, the dragon in the mountain nearby.

i dunno, just an example. but i think it would be much more wacky if we mixed and mashed it abit like the above.

he was the cheese maker and craftsman of the fortress when he found out the bones that he used for crafting where of kitties...he killed the butcher and he got fired and turned to crime

durning his crimes he likes to rape both sexes

recently his father died in a pathetic atempt to slay a dragon

now he is out for revenge

He came to the fortress as a cheese maker, but was immediately beaten by the mayor and told to do something useful.  He took up bone carving and all was well until he found his cat's collar in that day's heap of bones.  In a fit of rage and inspiration he killed the butcher and made an incredible sword from his spinal column.

Enraged by the murder but in awe of this weapon, the Mayor stated that the only way to pay for his crime was to slay the local dragon.

And so he set out, bellowing his cat's name as a battle cry.

His cat's name was Gunlelkesh (translates to Rapetails).

i think neo's was excellent.

but that doesn't mean i won't accept something else.

i'll run a different poll when everyone who voted the last option has written their stuff.

actually, i think neo's suggestion is fine.

He's a professional mercenary who also serves as an expert cheese maker. During one of his missions where he was to slay the local dragon, he came across his father, who was a peddler. After a short conversation, he noticed that his father was wearing his pet cat's collar. The father then admitted that he killed the cat to use it's bones for decoration.

Enraged, he feeds his father to the dragon and then kills the dragon afterwards. Scarred by the death of his pet cat, he turns to raping both sexes and then milking them to make cheese and turning their bones to armor and weapons.

picked neo's suggestion.

Why won't the Major do this himself, stupid idiot.

All i did was give my thanks to that idiot butcher for killing off my poor kitten... i even made this awesome sword out of his spine.

Well. here i am, and there's the dragon. Any advice how to handle this?

Throw the sword.
If it works the same as the game and you're fairly lucky, it will pierce every internal organ in one shot.

Use whatever food he has to lay a trail that leads the dragon back to the fortress.  Then run away very quickly because dragons are untameable once they have tasted dwarf.

We could do the most irresponsible thing; jump on it's back and hold the sword to its eye and force it to fly our little friend to another place.

A more responsible thing to do would probably try to talk to it, if we can make friends, all the better with a dragon.

Unfortunately, that puts us right in front of it's face.  Where the fire comes out.
