A real fashion crime.
« on: July 14, 2008, 07:36:20 pm »
A new law in Flint Michigan.

Here's the article-
http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beauty/fashion-crimes-for-real-flint-mi-police-to-start-arresting-people-with-saggy-pants-we-feel-confused-sad-perhaps-scared-205945/

I'm still unsure on where I stand with the law. On one hand its a relief, on the other hand now the government can tell us how to dress??

I, for one, welcome our new overlords.

Besides, those that wear their pants so low... they're flip-floppers. You're either wearing pants or you're not. There's no in-between. Pick a side!

Neutrality is a crime in the war of Pants vs No Pants.

I can understand as small fee maybe, but a possibility of jail max a year?
Blasphemy.

Yes there is a dress code, in certain places of course(really in general society if you know what I mean), but this is a waste of a bill, a big waste at the tax payers money in general.

Cops should be monitoring the streets not baggy pants hooligans.
For that matter it's still unlikely for cops to find people like that in the open (especially during a drive or chase, obviously :P). This undoubtedly won't last long, well, unless the seniors don't get involved <.<

Kid: Oh wow I'm being deflowered by a grown woman!
Mother: By the way I'm your mother
Kid: OH GOD NO

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

those poor plummers...

also,

*a cop spots someone with saggy pants*
Cop: STOP, you violated the law, pay your fine or serve your sentence.
Saggy victim: what the-
Cop: THEN PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD!
Saggy victim: But-
*cop blasts saggy victim's head off with a revolver*

ok, maybe the cop wouldn't be an imperial guard, but what happens if you refuse to pay or go to jail?
do they taze you?

Don't pay your fine or refuse to give information on who you are, they can arrest you.

If you resist arrest in a more aggressive way, the cops have legal right to arrest you in a more aggressive way.

Meh, this is a long time coming. As long as moralization of the law continues with indecent exposure laws, this is definitely something that should be right in there.

We can link this to the zombie apocalypse and say that the people with their pants around their ankles will be slower and allow us to get away.

A noble sacrifice indeed.

After they reanimate, they trip over their own pants. Then you literally can bust a cap in their ass.

Oh, hey, I didn't know that Michigan was part of Iran.

Meh, it's a part of indecent exposure law. Personally, I think such laws are stupid (It's other people's morals overriding others personal freedoms), but as long as such laws exist, this is definitely something that's been a long time coming.

But aren't they infringing on your natural right to not see their ass?

No-one has a right not to be offended. It could be called a sanitation issue but the hands are more unclean than anyone's posterior.

It's not a right to not be offended, it's a law against indecent exposure.  And if most of your naked butt is hanging out, I think that would be under most indecent exposure laws anyways.
Probably not a Goat, either.

That's the point of this. It's a further clarification of indecent exposure, which is fine by me so long as such laws are in place. Still, indecent exposure is society's squeemishness showing. "We don't like to look at it, so you can't put it there". It's a societal taboo.
