I've got half a mind to make a "Second Place Award" (an empty trophycase with the words "maybe next time") for all of us, myself included, who haven't won yet.
Who are you again and why in the world would you expect anything resembling rationality or civility in youtube comments?

Source?

Not to mention the sentence doesn't make any sense.

Mediocrity to excess is glory.

It means that even things that are meaningless, or even negative, when done to such levels can be the quality of some kind of pride. Like being the most detainee guy at your school, or building detailed working sculptures out of millions of toothpicks, or reproducing the Mona Lisa on an Etch-a-Sketch or even staying a virgin for over a hundred years.

I didn't ask for an explanation, I asked for the source.
