Just some constructive criticism..or an attempt at it.  The face looks really GLUM! Like something from the depressing creatures challenge. I don't have the full version, but can you make the ridges taller? And doesn't the tail narrow out towards the end?
I agree with you but I don't think i'll change it because if i make his ridges taller then they become wider and thats the smallest tip for the tail i could get on the spine. I could use a limb instead but I don't think it'll make much of a difference ad it's also not a smooth. I just tried making him "happier" but everthing I try i feel is a downgrade. I can see where you're coming from but I think these specific changes will take away rather than add to the accuracy of the creature. But thanks for the criticism, I appreciate it =]

Are you using spikes tipped back for the ridges? There are a few other ways you could go about that, each resulting in a taller ridge.

The first would be to use two triterraflops for each ridge. You place one with the shallow end facing forward, then one behind it with its shallow end facing the other direction. Get the two wide edges to meet up, making it look, more or less, like one object.

I'd also try using a knurl down. You can squeeze those things into all kinds of different shapes. Maybe if it doesn't curve right, you could layer two.

If you still want to use the spike, you could also try layering that a couple times, each one tipping a bit farther back. That would make it look "taller," though the ends would probably make it look jagged along the back.

It's too late to fix now, but whenever I know I'm going to make something with a tail, I'm sure to make it big enough so that I can bring the tail to a point.

EDIT: Here. Example of each of the ridges.

Lower head are the triterraflops. Upper head are the layered knurl down. The heads to each side are the layered spikes.

EDIT the 2nd:

I just took the osteoflippy fin-like detail parts and rotated them to fit. I actually got the idea from pixxel's machamp :) . If someone wants to experiment with it then feel free to.Here's the sporepedia http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=ast-500005229341%3Asast-500005229341 .

I finished Geodude.

I was going to add gems/rock to it, but i thought that the texture did the job pretty well.

Skizzik's Geodude

Edit: I also added a foot at the bottom to give him a way to move. I tried to hide it the best i could.

P.S. Oh yeah, Bring on another.  ;D

Here is Voltorb...well as close to Voltorb as I could get.   ;D

I couldn't find a color scheme which gave me a hardlined white bottom so I made one myself.  Not ideal but it gets the job done.

Blargh. Starmie is difficult. It won't animate or look right no matter what I do. I can't get rid of the black shadow parts on the legs. Here are two attempts at it. Both have different faults (some are the same though).

I'll take another, but why am I getting all the rather difficult ones? :-p Well, if we're talking accurate recreation and animating well. Aerodactyl is the easiest one I've gotten, but no one's even commented on it. lol
