Pietoro's Menagerie
« on: June 27, 2008, 12:13:13 pm »
Hey all, I've seen several users that I like on Sporepedia with the GamingSteve tag on their creatures, so I figured this may be a good place to get some serious critiques on my creatures. =)
Having a creature that animates well is one of my goals, so if you see any that could be improved in that area, please let me know.

Here are my current creatures that I feel are my best that I'd like feedback on, please be blunt :)

Cavecanari

Brumby

Harpyscree

Grassclopper

Pangu

Baroon

Garropda

After reading how the Prima guide says red-complexity creatures can't be used in the Creature Phase, I edited several of mine into the yellow zone. Not sure if I like all the results, but w/ev. I make a lot of creatures as 'food chain' fodder so I figured it was better safe than sorry in that department.

My full Sporepedia is here. Rates and comments are always appreciated. =)

Someone on the other forum I go to got the Prima Guide and listed stuff they learned from it. It said Red creatures can only be used in Tribal Phase and above.

Now, I'm not 100% sure that it's all accurate info, but I wanted to be safe. I liked my old Garropda (last creature) better before, he lost his decorative heel spikes in order to make it in under red. =/ Most of mine actually only lost stuff like that, and some of my hexapods are quads now.

I'm pretty sure we can still use them since the outrage that would be expected on the pirma topic isn't there.
So go on , creatures at max complexity forever.

Boo. Oh well, changing them was good practice on how to get the same look with less, at any rate. =/

This is the creature I'm going to start with once I get the game, I think. He has a nice gait:

Vespik

Some more:

Sudali

Caprina

A tiny guy: Oddjea. I submitted him to a 'Cutest Creature' contest on another forum, so I have a video of him, too:

Your starter creature is too cool, even though he's a biped he's very original. I think it's the way you made the mouth look like an extention of the head rather than just stuck on there(the striped works very well). Your other ones are great as well.

Thanks! He's from an old drawing of mine, It was cool to be able to remake him 'in real life'. =)

Latest:
I loved the super-lean body shape of AhavoRaboTaco's Shrekon, so I modified the torso into this guy, Shaira:

One more 'food chain' herbie, Skwee. I like how his paintjob turned out snow leopard-like:

I know what you mean! Most of my creatures start as drawings, and I can't wait to see them in 'real life'.
And once again, more awesome creatures. Nice tail on the 'herbie', and the patterning looks awesome.  8)
