The Forum Poem
« on: October 02, 2005, 01:41:17 pm »
Ok folks lets try a little literary game here.

The poem will consist of 4 line verses with the last words of each second line ryhming i.e.

Mary had a little lamb
Its fleice was white as SNOW
And everywhere that mary went
the lamb was sure to GO

Now the way the game will work is that i will start off the first 2 lines then the next to post will create their own rhyming lines, then start off the next verse with two lines e.g.

POST 1 (me) Mary had a little lamb
                   it had a wooden head

POST 2 (person a)  Instead of following mary
the lamb went to the pub instead

It bought a lot of whisky
and drank it by the gallon

POST 3 (person b)  It stagered outside to have a wee
                            then wandered into a salon

it got a manicure and a trim
to be with the latest fashion

etc etc and so on. The poem can form a story or just use your imaginations and we shall see where it leads. Just a few rules here please make sure that your last word can be ryhmed because that will just stop the entire thread. And no making up words just becasue you cant think of a ryhme for the previous post. And the same person can't post twice in a row. Apart from that the standard forum rules aply

ok then the start of The Great Forum Poem:

I was walking down a shaded lane
A tune whistling from my lips

FATE DOESN'T HANG ON A WRONG OR RIGHT CHOICE, FORTUNE DEPENDS ON THE TONE OF THE VOICE

When a Rabbit came across my path,
Between its mouth a bag of chips.

A Rabbit with a bag of Lays,
it is an uncommon sight to see.

but i was walking in the bushes
and i really had to

*take* a trip to sweden
i could get there from the dock...
I have been told
not by one but two of my lovers
that I've got a heart of gold
but I'm unable to share it with others
They call me a poet who'll never have a poem
a tiger with no taste for bone
I'm the wonderful wonderful wizard who's waltzing alone

Something worth recounting

at a taco stand.

"A taco if you will,"

And then the thought occurred to me:
I must learn to fly.

So I built myself some wings of wax,
and covered them in feathers (made of orange *evil grin*)

"The miasma of angst," and so I wonder:
Why are goths such terrible poets?
It has nothing to do with flying, true,
but that's art for you.
