Borarks are now mouth-breathers. :P

Smorph

This guy is based off the avatar I made in Second Life (hence people dancing in their underwear in the background. That what you do in SL.)

And the juvenile version...

I like this last one... hmmm Second Life, I went there once and was attacked by phalis guns within half an hour, hence the once, lol.

Wait, Bonemouse is back?  And his creatures remain awesome?

*rejoices*
Probably not a Goat, either.

Your forgot the nostrils on the Borark.

I was taking the Borark apart yesterday to make version that more closely matches the original drawing and discovered that it does have nostrils. They just got hidden behind its head.

Which begs the question, if I fix this problem and save the creature again, will the Sporepedia version be updated as well? Or do I have to delete it from Sporepedia and share a new version?

I like this last one... hmmm Second Life, I went there once and was attacked by phalis guns within half an hour, hence the once, lol.

Thanks!

I have avoided being attacked by a phallis gun thus far (and it really is only a matter of time) but in my first couple of hours of playing I did get hit on by a male psychedelic bunny and was offered to be uh serviced by female escort. Of course I had no money at the time and she wouldn't accept jokes as a form of payment. I didn't ask the bunny...

SL really shines when you rez your first plywood cube and start making things. In my case, that plywood cubed turned into a demented sock monkey avatar.

Wait, Bonemouse is back?  And his creatures remain awesome?

Mr. Ink, sir. You are far too kind. :D

I love your creatures! You're really good at making a strong, cartoony look :D

Are we talking about the Smorph? Because any creature who has to live in a world with the threat of phallis guns (see above) will look far more disturbing then a creature who lives in a grass circle surrounded by paper trees.

Awesome creatures, and amusing commentary. So that's what I'm lacking, eh? Ahh well.

Nice creatures. The cartoony look normally bothers me but you pull it off in a way that is more than tolerable, it's damn well near enjoyable. The creatures are designed well and seem to have a sense of purpose behind their design, whether that purpose is purely jovial or more series depends on the creature. Really nice stuff.

It creates a new one so you have to delete the old one, which sucks because you lose any comments or ratings you had for it.

I spend a lot of time editing myself by adding parts and asking myself: does this help or hinder the design? More often then not, I opt to remove said part. I think that is why they have a cartoony look.

Also, I pay a lot of attention to the overall shape of the creature trying to give it an interesting and distinctive silhouette. This is an old trick used by cartoonists when they are designing characters.

the Smorphs are pretty cool :D

Thanks. And yes, Second Life, woot! I haven't been in world much lately. When it's computer time (which is sadly for too short these days) I have to ask myself: City of Heroes, Second Life, or Spore? Guess which has been winning these days?

It creates a new one so you have to delete the old one, which sucks because you lose any comments or ratings you had for it.

Next question: Is there a way to unshare a creature on the client's side? Or do I have to save a copy and delete the original to be able to upload it again once I've changed it?

On to the creatures...

The Coral Baby

Based on...

The Driid

This was based on a friend of mine. It'd be too difficult to explain why it's a giant-eyeball-green-monkey-creature, you'll just have to trust me. It suits him.
