Looks to be the real deal. It's his son posting the information about Spore on a forum.

You will have to go through the (many posts) has he starts to give some info about the demonstration EA gave them.

A quote from one of his posts:

Title says it mainly.
People from EA came round to our house today and showed me and my family the current beta of spore. We got to make creatures and try out some of the different stages of the game.

No we didn't actually get an early copy but we've played and we are getting an early version of the creature creator early. See spore site for more info on that though.

Oh and also the reason why they keep delaying is because there finishing the UFO stage.

Also please tell me if this is the wrong forum, i just wanted to share this with you guys because it was bloody amazing.

I don't care if you don't believe me here, I'm not going to tell you why we got this because you would only question it and not believe me anyway, i got nothing to prove to you guys.

Ok during the actually game you start out as like a tiny single cell organism.
You only have a mouth capable of eating algae and crap like that like herbivore but when you eat enough you float up a layer (a bit like in the game "flow" for the ps3) and you can mate and change your person, YOU WON'T HAVE MANY PARTS HERE, to get more parts you have to kill creatures that have parts you don't, just look out for stuff you haven't seen like electric volts and stuff like that, you'll come across allot of massive things but they will look tiny when you grow and it's very satisfying when you get to eat them.

When you reach creature stage it has a sort of odd cutscene thing then you go into the creature editor and change your creature, It actually looks like the one you made as a single cell and you don't have to change it at all, you can stay in the water as an underwater race if you wanted. we explored for a bit and killed some weird slug like things and we ate them before this massive angry slug chased us. we found some of our own species and we danced a bit.

Now what i love about this part is that baby's of your creature will follow you sometimes and will copy what you do. Also usable while testing your creature in the creature editor being released soon.

P.S. They didn't ask us to sign any legal crap about not releasing anything and besides, it would only work if i was 18.

Wow. I wonder if this is actually true, or just a misunderstanding (if the whole thing's not a fake, that is). Sure would be a surprise to learn that underwater races were in Smiley

Seems like what he says is true.
Although i have a hard time to believe about the underwater part.
Maybe the developers do read forums and decided to put it back in.

Well we know they do read the forums. The question is if they did decide to do the underwater phase, why would they keep it a secret?

I doubt it's in, but still it's interesting to hear.

Dunno, that got me puzzled also.
My best guesses are:
They are still considering to put it in or not.
Or maybe the demo he played was a old version.

I need to repeat this for the hundredth time, though a variation this time:
Unless they put one in, they never demonstrated a functional non-CGI waterphase.

It's true, this all begun on facepunch (Garry's Mod forums), where Jonathan Ross' son posted that he had played Spore, of course nobody believed him at first, so here's some pictures he posted later:

This is jonathan (looks familiar? ^):

Show me some screens of them actually playing the game and then I'll buy it.
