thulithotulus (the individual being who is the Thulithotle)

the Thulithotle (refering to it as plural)

                  Thulithotle

fanart:

intelligent

weird

pics for the fun of it, even though it couldnt happen; different worlds

The thulithotle are, and consider itselves, observeres in the most practical sense.
of all the understanding and it has of the world around them,  it view she universe as a separate thing, and as such it cant fathom that they are part of it; such as how a scientist may view the world through a microscope and considers the life there apart from them , distant, and disconnected.the thulithotle, as communal mind, must stay withing their home atmosphere leaving this very specialized gas would rip its sensitive neural network apart from the rest. and, as all within thulithotlus have its shared consciousness and desires, they would not try to separate from itself.

evolution, in most major stages. couldnt desighn one of them

1:  at this point, the creatures homeworld had a thick, unusual atomosphere, which allowed it live aquaticly . the tails were for locomotion and the spines for traction when moving through the layers of atmosphere.

2:  as the atmosphere thined at this point in history, they took to flying, some of their spines becoming wings, with strong, hard ridges supporting them, but the tails were extranius at this time. a branch of this species still remains as flying.

3: the creatures became larger, and could not fly for long. they developed hooks to cling to objects and rest. the tail-limbs helped with this

4: <undeveloped>

5:now the modern species, its hooks lengthened into strong limbs to allow walking on even ground, and the spines became risidual.

the thulithotle discovered that the dwarf star around their world was soon going to flair up and cause clamactic damage to its home. so, the conciousness of all the inidividual thulithithotle was gathered into one individual, to be known Thulithotlus. only small section remained behind, with the knowledge only to protect their home from the star's destructive wave; they would be destroyed in the proccess.
however, this leaves a problem: because the knowledge of the stars flairing (and how to protect against it) is in the thulithotle left behind, they wont do anything about the star till they learn of it again. this gives to a cycle of building up the race, and then the star whiping it out again. and they will have to live with this cycle, at least for another half billion years

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
bit on biology

the thulithotle gain some heat and energy through the sun and this gives the thulithotle their black color;
as their star is a white dwarf, they need to be black to absorb enough sunlight.

Just come up with an entirely new race, you want insperation? Grab something nearby off the table, and base your new creature on that.

Because the point of a restart is to give NEW races a chance.  We want originality.  Nothing to remind us of the old.

It doesn't, but the Idea of the New Galaxy is that we get some new blood. You made these creatures ages ago, so they are not new.

Just quit being such a baby and make a new race.

Ah, so you understand that you should just make a new creature, something origanal, you don't have the write an essay on their entire history, just do what you did with the Graid but witha different creature.

sorry, I have no emotional connection with these unspecified "other" creatures.

and this does bring in new blood, so to speak;
these guys and the graid, for that matter, havent even left the house yet, so to speak; the 373 day-old virgin

now I realy would try to make a new creature, but my creativity is now rutted down to a few catagories, and im unable to escape the ditch.

How about a flatlander race?  beings that live in crevices, only able to see in two dimensions...

There are nigh infinite ideas out there.  Call on the muses, and take your pick!

Crazen, you must realise that you aren't going to be accepted into the NG untill you make a completely new creature. Sure it can be drawn on a paper lying around in your room, cause we can't know about that, but it shouldn't have set its foot on gamingsteve, or any part of the internets. Untill you accept this and follow this rule you aren't going to be accepted.

I know, I know. ill stop. just, to me, it seems rather stiffling to say all creatures created before April 6th, 2:18:23, 2008 are prevented from participation with this universe

just, when it was decided to make a new world, I thought the most reasonable perpose of the new galaxy would have been establishing races that couldn't get in, mainly newer ones that hadnt really had an opportunity, because of the old history, but I kinda get it now: its just about making new races, not allowing people to join in.

well, I can still just do doing a bunch of non-canonical games then, since I cant join in these ones 8)

check this out:

this is a big, well developed thoulithotle; the 'hard drives' of the race.
how much information one can store and its raw thinking power of a thoulithotle is directly relative to its size.

this thulithotle would be reserved for more important functions, such as large data reserves, and directing consciousnesses. at the opposite end of the spectrum are weak, small thulithotle, who usually only perform simple physical tasks, and cant carry much knowledge.

I see where your coming from.

but this is a bit more like a giant collective brain

.......in space!

their solar system has an outlying brown dwarf star (not much bigger than jupiter) which orbits their main white dwarf. around the brown dwarf is a sytem of rings, orbiting at a very slow, steady pace. it takes (earth) years for an object to orbit. the thulithotlus makes their home among these, moving from rock to rock, in the thick gass clouds around the (nearly) dead star.
