NGC: Aftermath - Population Zero
« on: March 12, 2008, 01:22:18 pm »
Aftermath - Population Zero is a sci-fi documentary that National Geographic Channel aired recently for the first time, it's 1 hour and 31 minutes talking about and showing what would happen if humans were to simply vanish forever in a split second. Personally, I think it was based on that internet still-picture show called Aftermath (I think?) where most of the worlds population disappears for no known reason (except in Aftermath - Population Zero they all do).

Personally, it got me quite addicted (I watched the whole thing with satisfaction), I think it will be interesting even for people who don't like Post-apocaliptic scenario movies, since this is more of a documentary and a quite good one at that.

I agree it was a very good special, the time scales were really well done as well.
Just seeing what would happen after the first several hours to the next 10k years is awesome. Hope this comes out on dvd ;) soon.

Mother: By the way I'm your mother
Kid: OH GOD NO

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

I didn't really like it, it wasn't as interesting as I thought. I found it odd that there were so many animals left but no humans and no bodies.

Well the premise of the show M was that what if the human race dissappeared in an instant ::). And the animals that survived, natural disasters etc were all assumptions by scientists.
So stuff is a little exaggerated but most I can see happening ( nuclear fallout, animals thriving, buildings collapsing etc.).

They said it explicitly in the show that all humans had disappeared suddenly for some unknown reason, personally I'd say God did it :P
Therefore, no bodies to be found.
