Wasn't there a Rayman math game in the 90's?
Yeah. I had it, but the sound didn't work, so I had no idea what to do.

And with zoombinis..heh, I remember the pizza people. My least favorite stage was the one with the mine cart, since that was just identification. The one with bubbles where they floated across a chasm was fun....and there was one with faces on a cliff and a bridge and little pegs that came out. And then there was the one with collapsing rock...

No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

I remember Jump Start Kindegarten being fun, but the best educational game I've played is Zap!. You get to play around with electricity, sound and light, but electricity was by far the best part of the game.

Wow. They made Math Blaster games a lot longer than I thought they did.

Sim City 2000 and Civilization II

I don't care what any of you say, these two games are educational, if only for the fact that they spark an interest in the subject.  I today am fascinated with history, and I believe I owe this spark of curiosity due to playing Civilization II for ungodly amounts of time.

Oh, and Oregon trail.

Civilization is an has a ton of educational value without a doubt.

But i have to pick sim ant why?.

When i first got it for the snes i was very young and couldn't understand how to play. My parents read the tutorial for me but i still could not figure it out. I was determined to play so i taught myself how to read using the games instruction booklet.  ..god i feel old that was so long ago..

I'm surprised these haven't come up, but I extremely enjoyed Oregon Trail 3 and The Incredible Machine.

Oregon Trail 3 was very intuitive and all sorts of fun from hunting from a first person perspective to reading guide book entries on all sorts of in-game topics to help you out. I found it amazingly amusing to rub salt into every wound my group sustained along the way for some reason.

The Incredible Machine was a favorite for obvious reasons. Make a complex Rube Goldberg style machine to complete a simple task all while learning basic physics? Fun times indeed.

Pharaoh

That game is one of the best city-building games ever made AND it taught me every aspect about Egyptian history and culture.

Pharaoh was an awesome game. I'm not sure if it's your normal "edutainment" game though..or if it even is one.

Well, if u really think about it most games have some educational value... so out of every game I consider to be somewhat educational (and not wargames..) I would have to say that simcity 2000 or simtower would be the best.

As for something a bit more education based...
I'm going to have to go with oregon trail 3.... or maybe outpost....

Oregon trail 3 was very educational and had great replay value, outpost was incredibly fun and kind of educational (it actually makes me think of oregon trail combined with simcity for some odd reason...)

Current Favorite Game- Spore

Waiting on:
Fallout 3
Starcraft 2
