No, I'm a big baby and I don't want to play any of you. Look at me, I'm a weener and I just play SSBB all to myself. I should feel guilty of choosing this option.

Yeah. Items all on and set to low. Random stages, no custom stages.

Well one suggestion for a fair stage is Final Destination Stage.
I mainly say this because it's completely horizontal with no vertical backdrops.

Yeah late to say this but it's just a suggestion, if not this one Battlefield is a good choice. :)

There will always be those unpredictable factors no matter how much you try to hide it. That's the spirit of Smash Bros and that's what makes it fun. Plus it's not like we're on a single life sudden death here. We just need be on guard of those nasty flukes but those shouldn't hamper your fun. Plus we can always have more tournaments afterwards or just play each other on our free time.

And the ever-possible RL fluke..

Ok, so since Single-Elimination wins I understand some of you may be concerned about possible flukes that alter the results of a match. So to make everyone happy there's a new poll with an appealing offer. You guys decide.

Personally, I'd like a middle ground. Something like best of three, 3 stock, 7 minutes time limit. The time limit to prevent people running away constantly to rely on good item spawns, 3 stock to make it possible to come back if you get behind, best of three to try and prevent losing due to flukes.

The rest of my opinions about the tournament probably wouldn't be too popular, as I would support the removal of a couple of items and stages to try and make the matches less flukey, but I think this one might be okay. :)

3 stock to make it possible to come back if you get behind

From what?

Naturally, a timed match should have unlimited lives. Unless you say if somehow you get a lot of falls I'm sorry. If you're falling that much then you really suck. The chances of that all being by mistake are pretty far fetched. :P

Think of it the other way round, it's primarily a stock match, with a time limit to keep matches from lasting too long and screwing up the timing of the rounds in the tournament.

If you lose the first life by making a mistake or whatever, then I think it should be possible to come from behind and win the round. With one life it's impossible and with two it can be extremely difficult. I'd say three is probably the minimum amount of lives that it's realistic with. Ideally I'd say four, but each stock lasts longer than it did in melee, so to keep each match from lasting 15 minutes, three lives is probably better.

Count me in...maybe we ought to start leaving our names and friend codes...

Just one thing, however...since there's no messaging, chat, or anything of the sort, how are we going to communicate about who won and who should fight who next, that sort of thing?

And I definitely support 5x stock over a time limit, maybe five stock with an 8-10 minute time length...

Crap that's a tie.

Oh well, I'll just be decisive and go with timed to keep it short.

As for how you guys will tell me who won and lost we'll use the honor system. I think people are smart, responsible and humble enough to tell the truth even if they did lost miserably. If not then they shouldn't even be in this tournament. Though this is optional, you can send me the replay. Being that matches will be 2 min. you'll be able to save a full replay and send it to me. Also, is there anyone with the right equipment to record video onto a PC? I'd like for them receive that replay and upload it to YouTube or something.
