Is there a part 2?  He just mentions the civilization and space phases.

Yea it just has not been uploaded yet, can't wait :D

what the guy said while commenting the last two phases is that they had no permission to put that in. so he was just explaining a bit about the stages (stuff we all already know about)

its still worth the download to hear the sound effects of the game, and since i don't speak german, his alleged inane comments are wasted on me.

very good video, probably the best since the GDC 2005 one, I really like the starting cinematic, I hope another comes containing the civ and space stages...

Ok, I can't download it either, but it seems to be a problem with Quicktime (something about not having the right software, and that said software cannot be found on the server).  So, how much is shown after what we have already seen in youtube vids??  Anything in the Civ or Space stages?

Someone said that the bipedal creatures are walking weird. But if you look at them you can see that their legs have 2 joints. I find it amazingly cool how they are walking.

Something I learned from the vid I was worried about: You can scale your creature, without having to spend credits on it.
It would really suck if you had to pay for scaling. It would mean bigger creatures were better than smaller ones to make sense. This would limit diversity as everyone would be trying to make big creatures in the end. I'm hoping Maxis can balance creatures in a more creative way. I want many paths of viable creatures each with a special play style instead of a single linear progression from sucky creature to good creature.

So here is how I imagine it: Big creatures are big and strong but slow and need lots of food. Small creatures are stealthy, need little food and can have larger packs since it takes less food to make more of themselves. Medium creatures are fast since they are neither too big and heavy nor have tiny feet. Additionally different parts could modify different abilities based on scaling. So a big spiting part will have a bonus to damage, a medium spitting part will have a bonus to range and a small spitting part will have a short cooldown. And then different scales unlock different kinds of abilities not available to others. You would need to be small or medium sized with big wings to fly. Nothing you can do will make your elephant sized creature fly.

In conclusion, scaling should be another choice for customizing your creature. There should not be any scale obviously better than another.
My predictions for Spore.

1) No water creatures at initial release. I was right about this even when the fanboys were denying it.
2) No composite limbs at initial release. eg. Buttface; attaching a limb to a limb to... Update: Prediction was incorrect. Buttface is in!
3) Spore will outsell the Sims and be the best selling game of all time until something better comes along.

but in the video there was an epic creature, activating stealth-mode and then it walked away (what kinda surprised me anyway, first, that its in without any real confirmation before and second, that huge creature like that could do it, cause i thought that would be something a regular sized predator could do).

Stealth is not a part in and of itself, right? Probably just as handy no matter what size your creature is. Small creatures can avoid predators with it and large creatures can hunt with it. Medium creatures can do both, I guess.

But it's a freakin' awesome looking creature!

"Vas is Das!?"

Yeah a giant stealthy beast... I wonder what you get if you manage to take that thing down.
