Yeah i guess it did come across that way :-[. I meant I would be interested to see what other countries around the world are doing in response to this.

Interestingly enough Qatar (Mid east mind you) donated some 50 mil I think. On the other hand Japan donated half a million. Hmm....

Qatar is an oil-rich country run by a benevolent dictator, its part of the United Arab Emirates I think. Most industries are owned by the government. Since much of japanese wealth is tied up in public business they have less money to give away- also dont forget Japan was leading up to a general election, it wouldnt have been  good idea for their funny-haired prime-minister to have done anything contravercial
