Gaming Steve Episode 70 - 02.21.2008

Never got to do this before. It's such a rush!  ;)

Gaming Steve Episode 70 Program

-Game Developers Conference Days 1 & 2 Recap

  • Xbox 360 finally allows anyone to develop for their system.
  • Ninja Gaiden II gets dated.
    • Peter Molyneux does his snake-oil dance for Fable 2 ... and we eat it up.
    • Gears of War 2 is announced and dated, guess the rumors were true.
      • Jack Emmert goes off on MMO developers.
      • Interview with Caryl Shaw, Producer for Spore from Maxis.
I'm listening to it right now. Steve apparently wants to live to see the end of this century. I say why not go all out and live to see the end of this millenium. I bet Matt Groening's view of the future is the most accurate.

Edit: Also, "don't quote me on that" seems to be the phrase of the day.

What meme is relevant right now? Look, just imagine I'm riffing on that. Updating signatures is exhausting.

I don't care about videogames any more but if PATGAMES.COM.NET has a section for Pen and Paper RPGs and board games then I'm in.

I'll make a sitemap.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

Why not talk about D&D? That's gaming!

Thought we could call the site the Brian Jacques Experiment.

I'll pretty much follow wherever if we want to start a little side site for us to bull**** on a grander scale I'm down. I could probably help with a little $ and content

I think our opinions are the best opinions I read on the internet for the most part

Well, as I said I'd be down to set something up. What we need besides $ and content is someone who actually knows web developing and then baby, we've got ourselves a stew going.

My understanding was that it'd be more of a smörgåsbord where each game has a page and users are free to submit their own opinions on the game, very much like these forum posts except in a more article-esq format. There wouldn't be a dedicated reviewer of any sort but rather a free flowing exchange for each game.

Edit: By users i of course mean us and people we vet. I don't want Joe Blow messin up our site with ****ty formatting or attitude.

No that's nothing like what I was thinking.

It's just like... a blog. We write stuff when we feel inspired and it's a place to keep it and look at and if other people want to look at it they can. :D

I think he means like a blog where anyone can write a post and they all appear in chronological order. Like this, but if we were confined to one thread, videogames, and article format.

where each game has a page and users are free to submit their own opinions on the game

This part I don't like, separating things into pages for individual games. Just plain text and a nice background.

I say we trick 'em up. Paint gold gray and trick people into thinking it's rocks, then steal them back and make a profit.

My GS bookmark takes me to the front page, not the forum home. You know... because I still hold out hope for the update. @_@
