Free would be nice... never going to happen but I'd be all for free content!

Ehhh... I think I threw up a little.

The prospect of an infinite number of expansions reminiscent of The Sims is enough to make me want to hurl a sack of flaming crap at their offices. Don't get me wrong, sometimes expansions are good and sometimes they are excessive and unnecessary. And sometimes when you repackage an expansion with slightly better graphics and slap a number two after the title it is insanity.

I just hope they spend more time with each expansion to cram as much content as they can to reduce having 7+4 expansions like the Sims 2.

Hey, if they get it to work like Steam, you can download content right into the game as you play.

Im wishing they would implement a multiplayer mode of somekind in some of the expansions/spore 2, even if only direct connect with 2-4 peeps and everyone required to be online to play and save the progress, or LAN mode or something...

yet to see AI i'd gotten same kind of thrill from like defeating a real human player

At least the content server should elimate the need for 'stuff packs', but i still wouldn't be suprised if E.A tried to sell off selection packs of the content already on the server or something like that anyway.

"Your planets are running out of breathable atmosphere! Buy new atmosphere now!"

I'm hoping they come up with more gameplay elements and so forth. I know spore has a lot, but after they've all been sampled. It'll be nice for them to include new and even more amazing features :D:D

Am I the only one who thought: 99 expansion packs, when I saw the title? ;)

Make that 99.9%

Remember, this is less than 1% of a game.

So spore is one of those games that we're trying to beat to 100% completion...only getting that 100% requires many expansion packs and ideas that haven't even been thought of yet... I like it!  :D

Since we're putting things way out of proportion here, do you think they really regret saying that right about now?

I like expansions. They keep the game interesting and fresh. But EA must lower the prices because i think expansion packs are too expensive.

I like expansions when they expand a completed game that was published.

I don't like it when companies take stuff out of a game solely for the purpose of selling it back to you after the game is released.

But in this case we would have to wait a lot longer, the game wouldn't come out before 2009. I don't know about you but i was losing interest in Spore because i was tired of waiting.

Sure, water stage is out. But I'm tired of waiting for Spore and if taking it out and saving it for later so that the game can be released already then that's fine.

If they kept it in, the game would take another year to release because you would need underwater cities, tribes, and a ton of other stuff.

In the DICE interviews Will said that only about 10% of the ideas they had for the game got programmed into prototypes.  And of all those prototypes, only 10% were going to be put in the final game.  That's your 1%.
This is the case for every good game out there.
