That picture of the Cloverfield monster is terrible. That is nowhere near what it looks like and the crab like things that come off it are also way off.

I think it's from a contest or something on DevianArt in which people guessed the appearance of the monster.

More to the point these 'epic' creatures sound like they are going to make everything much cooler. Like hunting them in tribal. ;D

Actually this is Clover

Or at least as close as you are gona get until official pics/merchandise comes out.

And yes, epic creatures will be awesome, I can't wait to create one to let loose. It would be so much fun to play out one of my fav sci-fi cliches by creating a giant monster and unleashing it upon a civilization until they bow down to me (as many of the aliens in Godzilla movies do!)  ;D

i think the way it will work is that there will always be a random chance of a species having an epic version of it on a planet, there may be just one, there may be a few depending on planet size, amount of creatures etc. In creature phase youd just run away, in tribal, you could eventually hunt it, in civ it could attack your cities like godzilla, in space you could destroy it, or even make your own, or abduct it and put it on another planet. Im guessing in space there will be missions to destroy them, missions to scan them, and missions that allow you to make them, and then eventually unlock the ability in the creature editor to make them, although im guessing theyll cost alot of spice to make each one, in order to keep balancing

i myself am going to make a huge snake like monster and it will be one of my main super weapons, a bit like how davy jones uses his kraken in pirates of the carrabean, i will release it upon planets to rid of their population before colonizing.

also it will be so cool to release different epics upon each other and watch them do battle

im going to make a collossus world filled with epic creatures

Is it possible to make an epic creature with a huge shell for armour, then try to nuke it and see what happens?

and if it survives, what happens if you fire a planet buster and it survives that too?

will we be able to indirectly control it, tell it to attack a city or somthing and then watch it do it?  i wonder?

you'll probably just "unleash" it.
Never mind your own business.

Actually... that's pretty much it. Nice work!

And yes, EPIC creatures WILL be Epic. Seriously. I'm gonna make a GIANT HUMAN HAND!

It would be so much fun to create an epic :D
I would try to get a tribe to worship me and judging from their looks, create an epic that could be a 'god' of them.
I wonder if you could socialise with them. Become friends with an epic, espec in creature or tribal :D

your describing the game Black and White(which would be way better this way).  on another note, i cant wait to hunt epic creatures on other planets in the space phase.  that game would never get old.  hopefully i will find an epic of that banana man and take him down. :D

i think the great thing about spore is that it can be made into any game you want

for instance i have loved dinousaurs since i was a child, moreso when i was younger, but im still fascinated by them. theres no games where i can have freeroaming fun with dinousaurs. but now i can make epic huge dinosaurs and smaller ones, or get them from creators who are better at making them, and make giant forest planets populated by them, with small raptors and giant brachiosaurs etc
