I like the book. Read it ages ago, saw the thread today. I think the book focusses too much on unimportant things, which is why I prefer Eragon. Looking forward to the movie of it though.

Never, regardless of the gorgeous art that adorns the covers of these books. I finally bit on reading Eragon much like I did when I became curious enough about Pottermania, and it was one of the most difficult books I've had to trudge through in a long time. . Paolini is less a writing prodigy and more the product of a marketing stunt that payed off. Wait, he was how old again? 17! Wow, that's amazing! I'm so enamored with this little fact that I completely forgot about the unfortunate poor writing. Amazement times two.
