That's why he specified a stone mason.  That is, a mason who works with stone.  It's a play on words, wherein mason in conjunction with the handshake comment refer to the Free Masons, and stone mason refers to the profession.

I say we move unless there's a level deep enough to melt ice manually.
You, sir, deserve a salute!

Also I reckon C, we'll need to mine down anyway and if we're further up the mountain then we're protected against flooding. All we need to do is dig down a couple of levels and when we're making the irrigation for our farms we can dig one level down and create a reservoir for a well to guarantee drinking water for the winter.
What have you got against intellectual midgets? They're quite smart little guys as far as i can tell.

underground farm and well while you're at it (although you'll probable need to wait for the rope/chain)

Make it a diary.

There needs to be some sort of story to make this interesting, otherwise we're just watching you play a game.

Have you read Boatmurdered?  Have it setup from the point of view of the person in charge.

We need to come up with a back story for a group named Ace Crazy Ball-Breakers of Frenzy.

Are we in a swamp or a forest?

Does Durgon have skills now?

Show us our thoughts.

Expain some of the symbols on the screen.  What are those crystals?  What kind of rocks are those?  Give us details!

Have Slarti smooth all the stone in his room, then engrave the floors and walls.

Defenses should have priority.

Encrust everything with the green ones and it DOES matter.

Rename them as people request it.

Where are the animals?  Why aren't we being attacked by wolves?

Put me up for a position as a future king  ;D

(not that important however. I do not really need my name in the game)

ok...this may not go a smooth as i expected...i had to abandon the fortress since almost everyone died of hunger >_<

all because at the last second the brook froze over right before i could water the farm

this is going mighty crappy... i will try to find another place and try again and if it wont work this time i will quit  :-\

this time im going to take all precautions though
first i will make a backstory of why our dwarves go there in the 1st place and then i will do it all diary style

lets hope to god it works this time

alright here we go again  ::)

a small group of dwarves have been sent to a large mountain area in the south to search for endless riches. the group called Nil kast or 'the Hammer of geniuses' consits of 7 dwarves assembled to fill each roll needed to create and maintain an outpost in the mountains. there goal is
to set up a camp where they can live on there own and then to find as much ores and gems as possible.

however what they do not know is that the mountain and the plains around it are filled with dangers.
goblins rule the land and monsters hide in the shadows of the mountain. will this outpost known as Savotavus or 'standmine' grow to be a city of its own, or will it be nothing more than a crypt? time will tell.

Celdur`s diary:

Granite 1st, 1055.

we are almost there! i cant believe this is finally going to happen.
Neoadapt said that the mountains where filled with demons and monsters
but i refuse to believe that.

we have finally arrived at our destination, i waited on this moment for so long.
the weather is allot better than i would have expected and its really peacefully.

durgon scouted the area and found a few good spots to start encampment

somewhere up really high in the mountains (ground lvl 5)

or allot lower and close to the river (ground lvl 1)

he said he saw a few good spots along the river too (ground lvl 0)
big picture so i linked it

i guess its for me to decide where we should go.

thats it...hope you all stick with this...since im kinda messing this up
