Escape From New York
« on: January 22, 2008, 10:37:40 am »

Escape From New York:

The greatest film since 1981. This film in my opinion is one of my most recommended films to watch. The actors are outstanding, including actors such as Kurt Russell, Lee Van Cleef, Isaac Hayes, Ernest Borgnine, Donald Pleasence, Harry Dean Stanton, & Adrienne Barbeau. If you're looking for the best film of all time, this is the one right here.

P.S. I am new to the forums on this website.

As yes, Snake Pliskin. In its day it was a great film, haven't rewatched it in years... not sure how it'll stand up.

Isn't there going to be a remake or a sequal to be made of this movie? ???
Kid: Oh wow I'm being deflowered by a grown woman!
Mother: By the way I'm your mother
Kid: OH GOD NO

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

Back in 1996, there was Escape from LA.  Waterworld, though made before Escape from L.A., was the sequel to this.  Finally, there was The Postman with Kevin Costner playing Kurt Russell's part.

hmmm. never knew about that about Kevin Costner. Thanks for the information, and I to also enjoyed Escape From L.A., although critics said that it was descent from the prequel.

Well I can't answer that for you, but do go onto wikipedia.org I'm sure there will be answers, about it near half of 08 or around 09 we'll get answers. However if the film is going to be remade, I know for sure that Gerard Butler will **** it up. If you want to speak about it, I'll make another thread for you if you insist.

The statue of lib's head was never shown like that during the film, and that fact was the base of the opening scene to cloverfield.

Also, everyone knows New York is the only place in the world.

Well it's the "Big Apple" so places that are popular and have a large population density are bound to be attacked or threatened by something i.e. Cloverfield Monster, KK, GodZilla and etc.

King Kong was shipped there to be part of a stageshow, he'd have been perfectly happy just to stay on Death Island. That Godzilla attacked New York is news to me, perhaps he got tired of flattening Tokyo for the nth time.

Usually it's aliens that attack America anyway, not giant monsters like in Japan.
Not a winner anymore.

Speaking of off topic..

They are making a remake of Escape to New York due out in 2009. I hate it as per my policy on hating all remakes.  And you don't have to worry, Gerard Butler already backed out in November.

I liked the Original, not as much a fan of Escape from LA.

I thought he wouldn't. Either way, Butler sucks, except with the film 300. I had pondered about some kind of film for the internet about Snake Plissken. It'll be a long time because I can't smoke (and I don't). All ideas I made for the show are not going to cable, the internet is the only thing that applies to me.
