Would that be tears of joy or despair?

Mine are of joy, desperately wanted a sequal to tron. And judging from movies of the now it is bound to be good. Well maybe I should say that only if I know whos directing the film and what not. But I still can't believe it a sequal is being made. 8)

NO! They'll F''' it up. Hollywood is worthless when it comes to remakes. There is no way that the simplcity of TRON will be relived in a remake. It'll be a visual nightmare. It would be like trying to remake Blade Runner or Close Encounters. It should not be done.

I agree, they shouldn't try to do remakes of movies when the original actors are still alive.

Tears of sadness. Seriously they shouldn't be remaking movies which are only 20 years old. Or some 40 year old ones for that matter.
It completely ruins the previous movie.  Heck soon we'll get remakes of Forrest Gump, The Matrix, Fight Club, Jurassic Park.  It's not even that they are out of ideas, they are just to lazy to come up with something original.  I don't want to see tron in state of the art CGI. The very thought of it makes me gag.

Lego hit the nail on the head, don't remake movies, especially classic movies, you only end up making people angry.

Wait it's a remake!!! Either I must have been not paying attention or I was just happy for a new tron movie, but A REMAKE!!! NO!! :( As most remakes have a bad rap for being crappy we should beware of this bad omen. WHY DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE A REMAKE OF THIS PERFECTLY GREAT MOVIE, DAMN DAMN DAMN!!! >:(

Doesn't seem like a remake. If anything, it seems based off the videogame Tron 2.0.

Besides, it looks awesome.

Also, I'd be totally for a remake of Blade Runner. The world can always use more interest in Cyberpunk.

How will we differentiate the new TRON from the old TRON without mentions of new and old?

It was actually better than I expected.. Minus the few odd and unexplained moments such as when TRON just all of a sudden decided to fight for the Users, as well as Kevins tendency to create hurricanes and explode his virtual world.

Just got back from this. It was a LOT better than I had figured it would be. I think the plot holes that people have been concerned with are something that came up from editing. I would not be surprised if the Blu-ray/DVD was 20 minutes longer when they put stuff back in. As it stands the movie was two hours on the nose (the additional 20 minutes of previews however started to aggravate me). One thing this movie does need though it a good sounds system, the action is very sound based, those that later watch it on their TVs at home will be missing out if they don't have a good sub-woofer.

Worth seeing in the theater, 3D is totally optional.

Just got back from seeing his, and overall, I liked it.

Though, I feel like a complete idiot for not realising that all the henchmen who used two Light Disks were Rinzler from the games, which on reflection, was kinda important :-[
Person21 - As enjoyed by Veraal.
A wise Surface to Air Missile once said about marrying 9 year olds in Saudi Arabia "Its pretty hard to tell if a 9 year old is going to be hot when she grows up, kids change a lot, usually, seems like a bad system. That cute little nine year old you married could end being a fat, zitty teenager."
