Just keep in mind that this project isn't so much about creating creatures, that's what the Spore section is for. We're more concerned with the descriptions of the land, the countries, governments, et cetera.

Also I went over Blarg's posts and he was not being disruptive at all so he's good. Neoskel doesn't have any record of anything so I say we give him a shot, everyone has to start somewhere. ;)

Thats pretty much why i tried to relate it to uses by man as much as i could.

And i hope you didn't mean everyone has to start somewhere at being disruptive.  :D

I shall be watching this.

Just to be clear, it's Age of Sail in it's level of technology, but it is not an alternate history/geography "Earth", correct?

Can I do a Vatican-scope religious state that worships math, geometry and order?

That is correct, the time period and technology are the only things reminiscent of Earth, everything else is independent of our own history.

As long as it fits within the chronological and technological constraints than you can do whatever your heart desires.

Shouldn't geography be the first order of business, then extrapolating what could go where?

I take a very Gun, Germs, and Steel view of history.

Well we figured that we'd let everyone design their own landforms however they wanted. As long as you reserve the space you can do whatever you wish within it. Also if you don't want to design a whole continent you can design a part of a continent and have the landmass run right up to the side of your space allotment, then someone else can design a corresponding piece that will meet up with it.

And yeah, landforms are the first order of business. It just so happens that a few of us already had country ideas in place, and that's fine too. You can design a landform and the environment and the nation on top of it all at once if you so desire.

I can't draw worth a crap.

I might make up some religious and ethnic groups that others could sprinkle around their landmasses later, if they so wish.

What is the scale; is the only question that comes directly to mind?  How many miles per pixel?

Add another thousand pixels to both height and width.

That would give us another 90 thousand pixels to work with.

So the planet has a circumference of 5000 miles or are we starting on only one part now?

Circumference of the earth: 24,902 miles.
