Did you know that I used to actually work at MTV? And I was in charge of celebrities? 100% true! Oh yeah, and I did something with music & bands there too.

I used to work on a show in 1992 called " 'Hanging w/MTV". It was on during the summer of 1992 and was a live 3-hour show with a studio audience. I was in charge of the green room and meet a ton of stars during that time.

The worst star I had to work with ... Melissa Etheridge (actually she was nice, but her manager was freaking horrible)

The best star I had to work with ... "Weird Al" Yankovic. He was super nice, super smart, and very funny. And he gave an autographed guitar in which he wrote on it "To my dear close personal friend Steve!"

Awesome.

He just treated everyone who worked at MTV (except the bigwigs) like dirt. For example, while I was trying to do my job (remember, I worked on a live TV show) he gave me a FedEx and told me to "go find a FedEx office and mail this for me right away". Now in 1992 there wasn't a FedEx office on every corner like there is now, so this was like a 2 hour trip, and I didn't have the time to do this and my job, but he didn't care. Now imagine 20 more things like that in the space of 6 hours ... while I'm trying to do my job. And he was doing this to everyone there, not just me.

Eventually the Producer heard about this and went semi-nuts on him.

And then there was the day that everyone was fired went the show was cancelled ... that was interesting (I was "spared" and got to work on "The Grind", which was freaking horrible). Ah ... showbiz!

You know, I've heard that Weird Al is a nice guy, but sometimes you don't really know what to believe about celebrities. ^_^

Anyway, that's pretty cool.

Wow, thats cool Steve.  Must have been quite interesting to meet all the different varieties of celebrities.  I think I remember that show.  At least it gave you some good stories to tell I imagine.

Wow, that's really cool! :o

Did you accumulate lots of autographs and stuff? On the rare occasion I do see celibrities completely by chance, I always get too nervous to ask them for an autograph in fear that they'd get mad, or just glare right through me.

Who were the worst divas/premadonnas? Like you here alot of stuff about celebrities making ridiculous demands, but I wonder if it's really true...

Man, it's a good thing I'm not a celebrity or I'd be making all sorts of wacky demands just for the hell of it.

"You there, fetch me an ironing board and a sea slug! I want some entertainment. And you! Make me a taco sandwitch stew, with NO CRUST."

And then I fire everybody who fails me.

Hey Steve, you should sell your autographed stuff on eBay and buy me a ticket to E3.  :P jk
