Anchor points on your creature: yes or no?
« on: November 10, 2007, 02:44:44 pm »
i'm sure you've all reached a consensus on some page here, but there was a rumour for a while that they were putting anchor points on your creatures instead of letting you do whatever you wanted with them. Is this true? To what extent?

I'll delete this topic after I get some answers. i'm not trying to spam, only find out.

ANSWER: apparently nothing has changed, the anchor points referred to something different.

as in body parts have specific points on them and you use them to modify the rest of the part.  Ie legs have one knee.    You won't be able to say free form pull / draw a leg from from the main body.  You place the leg on the body and then play with all the attributes.  It might also mean parts have to attach to segments on the spine.  From what I've read in the threads it's not really a big deal.  It's not a depature from anything you've seen in recent demos.

It's the paragraph under the advertisement.

I'm not sure what to think about this. I think I'll just wait for a demo video or something to see it in action before I jump to any conclusions.

i dont see it as a big deal, since you can stretch and mold where the anchor points themselves are.
I survived the flood of 2008 and all I got was this crappy homelessness.

Just watch any new video, for example the Gadgetoff video, where you can see that you can still put body parts on the creatures just where you want, so probably the article is talking about joint points on the body parts, not on the blob.

So yes, there are Anchor points, but they were there even in 2005.
