What's "the Robin Williams thing"?  I've heard his name mentioned here and there on this site, but I don't know what it's about.

He once played with the creature editor (I don't remember on which occasion). Really funny, a must see. I couldn't find the video right away, but it must be somewhere in the depths of "Spore: General".
Maybe someone else can help you with that video...

Many of podcast now Steve has stated that spore may not see the light of day till 2009 and such he even stated comments about people who started college would be graduated and in the job field before the game was released.

I have started and finished a master's degree, and held a job for over 2 years since I learned about spore.  So it's been at least there years.  I'm sure others have actually gotten a 3 year undergrad and gotten a job since they learned about Spore.

I'm open to any suggestions......we're bound to get SOMETHING out of it. If it did turn out to be sch an editor, well, even better!
If you peruse my things, you get POINTS!

Only trouble is, they're Whose Line Is It Anyway points, which are infamously not worth anything.

Kid: Oh wow I'm being deflowered by a grown woman!
Mother: By the way I'm your mother
Kid: OH GOD NO

EDIT: That's where it becomes rape if you were wondering.

I really honestly don't hope so. No matter how innovative, after 6 months of playing only the creature editor i would at some point get enormously tired of it

EA expects the creature editor to be so popular, the company is planning to release a creature-editor-only version of Spore before the official September 7 launch.

When I read that in the Joystiq preview I assumed that that would be the only pre-release editor we'd get and call me a pessimist but that seems like something EA would put in a shiny box and put a price tag on.
Um.........yeah

Nah.
The Sims 2 had the BodyShop. It was (and still is) a Sim character creator that was launched as a free download just prior to the Sims 2 launch.

And EA does not sell prototypes as full games..

Yeah I mean really who would want to play the creature editor for that long of a time, I mean really.
It's too early to be thinking about this anyway, if it does come out most of us will tinker with it for a month and after that wait for the final game to be released.

Doggy's statement is also true as EA never put out demos for the sims installments so why put a creature editor out there? I mean a creature editor demo would be nice but by the time we get it we would know how most of the editors work and it would be close to release. But that's just speculation so we have to wait for all the juicy details..if there are any :(.

Doubtful because 1) It seems far too early and 2) GDC is not normally used for game announcements or big user content.  Its function is very different.  If we get anything game-play related the timing might be incidental but probably not directly GDC related.
Check out my (Thurlin's) creatures, building, and vehicles.  You won't be disappointed.
