also i didnt like inkheart by cornelia funke, my uncle gave it to me, as it was hyped for a while... it was simply childish and girly, and also a product of the big harrypotter-lookalike-bandwagon...

I liked Inkheart at the time, but I"m over it now.  Personally I think it's stupid that they're only making a movie about it now, as anyone who read the book would be too old for the movie now and many kids won't get it.

I don't really have any books I've read that I didn't like because, frankly, if I don't like it I don't read...

Stone Angel!  Remebered that one halfway though writing that sentence.  Read it for English class.  God awfull book about a whiny old woman living on the praries who shoves away anyone who tries to help her because she is too proud and then complains that they're all against her.

Bahaha.  You two either discuss the merits of your views on the book, or grow up.

I'm not so fond of Madeline L'Engle either. I read it quite a while ago and I'm a little sketchy on the details, but I remember the basic plot. I thought of A Wrinkle in Time and its sequel A Swiftly Tilting Planet as being okay, but the one after that made no sense whatsoever, was incredibly confusing and was ridiculously boring. now that I read Mrs. L'Engle's Wikipedia article, I realize that there must have been Christian propaganda in there, and I'm not too fond of religion.

But the worst book I've ever read? Well I recall back in grade school reading four novels that were Indiana Jones-style adventures with this guy and his two kids, except with enough idiotic Christian propaganda in there to fill five churches. I tell you, every time one of the main characters tripped over their shoelaces they yelled at the top of their lungs for Jesus to save them. Ugh. I wish I could track down the author of those horrible books and punch his lights out.
I came, I saw, I went back to bed.

I just wanted to point out that Christian allegory and imagery does not equal Propaganda.

Maybe I should have said not neccesarily propaganda, as I don't remember how overt Christian messages are in A Wrinkle in Time.  When I think propaganda I think an overt praising or attacking of a certain thing or idea with an omission or stretching of fact, not a work of fiction reflecting the worldview of the author.

hey does anyone of you know the island of blue dolphins?

I had to read it for class, it was so horribly boring. Come to think of it many books read for class were annoying and boring.

I can agree with that one, though I didn't think that it was boring so much as depressing.
