Schools IN!
« on: August 16, 2007, 12:08:07 pm »
Well, it's your first day of intergalactic high school, on the slummy city planet of Tarqada. Your school may be falling apart and losing more funding all the time, but the faculty and staff put forth an effort. How will you fare?

This is basically Schools Out! 1, but instead of being on a state-of-the-art, well funded dorm school (or a Wexxian Warship  :P), you live in the slums, and attend a high school that barely has any money. And, as the title suggests, this is your first day, not your last few.

There are some differences in rules:
-Everyone is assumed to speak Galactic Basic, though may speak their own language for privacy.

-One character per person.

-Classes end every 24 hours, beggining when the actual RP starts. It is up to the teachers to wrap up their class.

-You will not have to describe your commute from school to your home, though you may. The actual RP'ing begins in the school, and ends at the school.

-Homework may be assigned, but it does not need to be explained by the students completing it. Just say whether or not you turned it in.

Rules are subject to change based on the objections/suggestions of others. I will declare when the RP starts.

Name: self explanatory
Rank: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Teacher
Species: Do I really need to explain?
Past Proffesions: Teachers only.
Clique: Students only. Jock, bully, smart mouth, clown, etc.
Age: Teachers only. Students are assumed to be in their aage group.
Held Back: Students only. State whether or not you have been held back, when you were, and how many times.

My character:
Name: Designation NOS-4-A2
Rank: Freshman
Species: Tropian
Clique: Bully...
Held Back: No.

I say NO! to all limits.
Unfortunately, I don't think we're far enough into the Civ stage to have deveoped into the 'Infinite-ghz processing' research tree yet...

C'mon lets get this show on the road already.

My current calculations dictate that we only have two teachers and three students, all of which belong to different ranks. We need more entries to prevent what happened to Schools Out 1; people began to join in at random times, and, consequently, had effects on things they weren't supposed to.

It will most likely start tommorow, unless more people join.

Yes, but you have to use them in just one or two posts, and they are only a convienience. They must also have a designation such as 'Running Child #2.'

Do you need more students or teachers? I can provide either.

Either one. Two teachers may be fine, but we need more than three students.

Ummm... Shouldn't you be asking me that?  ;)

They will join if they want, but they will have to get approval.

The RP starts... Wait for it... Wait for it... Nao- Wait for it... NOW!

NOS-4-A2 wandered the halls of his new school. His senses were on fire, gathering huge volumes of information, stressing his brain to the limit... But he had to preservere. He could give an alphabetical list of every species that had tread here in the past two weeks based on smell alone. But one thing stood out: The smell of meat.

If all went to plan, he would be able to forgo his current designation, and retreive his destined name, something only warriors were allowed to have. He would graduate from his stark room in the local Tropian complex, and enter a warrior's suite... Just as his ancestors had.

He skimmed through the halls brimming with information. I had better stop, he thought to himself. I'll fail classes if I don't have room for more information. Then who would pick on little Levith? He had heard Levith was tough, like the rest of his species. It was time to decide the true predator.

Ah, here we are... Mr. Kylx. Time to hunt...

Kylx sighed.  Another year of teaching.  Rephrase.  Another year of babysitting incompetent aliens completely incapable of processing the simplest thought.  The fact that there was no Kratairs in the student body, as far as he knew, was not pleasing.  They were the only one's worthy of his time.

Of course, there was always the silm, though still possible, chance that one of the little monsters he taught went above the rest of their species.  Those were the sole times he enjoyed his job, taking the brightest of the inferior species and filling their head with all sorts of information that may someday allow them to reform the rest of their race into something a bit more worthy to grace the galaxy's vastness.

As the first student made his way into class, Kylx followed him with his eyes without moving.

It starts...

A Kratiar, thought NOS. Another challenger to my position as appex predator...

{{Here are a few things to help you understand Tropians that I have not put up yet:

-Only warriors get names. Everyone else has a 'designation.'
-Tropians live in large compunds. They are basically towers divided into rooms, halls, and suites. Only warriors get the luxurious suites, but everyone else has a barren prefab room.
-Tropians were the appex predator, but secret Vexarion experiments gave them sapience. Their thoughts are naturally shaped around the food chain, and how they may stay atop it.
-The Tropians senses (sight, smell, hearing, touch, taste, and changes in magnetic and electrical feilds) are very keen. Tropians often have to rest and recover from the sensory flood that results from new surroundings. They can, however turn their senses off temporarily, but this is often seen as a sign of weakness.}}

Kylx frowned.  A Tropian.  He would have to keep an eye on him.  No doubt the little "warrior" would try ot subjucate his rule, but he had ways for dealing with those like him.

[concept: head in the clouds (or looking through the microscope)]

levith stood in awe and wonder at the activity before him, trying to take it all in. he couldnt help but squirm inside, and he lost track of were he was going. as far as he was concerned, he was an observer to the world anyway.

"What?" said NOS, looking at Mr. Kylx. NOS walked up to the teacher's desk, and began rummaging through his bag. Soon, he withdrew a slab of raw meat, still bloody, and laid it on the desk. "I brought you a gift of appeasement. It's Viltavum. You'll love it."

NOS went and sat in a random seat, smiling his usual wolfidh grin. He seemed to emanate horrible, carnivorous rapture. And he imposed the feeling that he could eat every student in the classroom and still have room to polish off the teacher before law enforcement arrived.

{{Fine, but they cannot be on two different sides of an argument, to prevent you from having conversations with yourself. The only reason I'm doing this is because you have two races. I made this rule to prevent some people (*cough*Little*cough**choke*) from vastly altering the storyline on their own and popping in with a new character when convenient.

One more rule: No more alien baby-making. None.}}

Kylx glared for a moment at NOS.  Grabing a plastic bag from his desk, he quickly put away the meat and stuck it in his desk.  He'd check and make sure it wasn't poisoned later.  He pushed a button on the underside of the desk and within minutes, a clunky robot that was the school's excuse for a janitor came and wiped the blood from his workspace before heading off into parts unknown.

"I've never had shellfish before," muttered NOS. His twin snake-like tongues wrapped around his huge fangs before a predatory reflex set in; the four large fangs sticking out of his mouth (like a saber tooth tigers') began to come together and form an almost shovel like shape. He was ready...

{{Another Tropian fact:
-The four saber-teeth they have are controlled by tiny muscles that oush them together, their ends combining in a single tip. This way they can scoop out large hunks of flesh and toss them directly into their large mouth.}}

"Awww, did little Clammy get mad? Or was that just a muscle spasm?" NOS cackled. He then set to wrok gnawing on the Graid's arm, but found it difficult to break the armor. "At least your armor is semi-tasty," he said, leaping away and hanging from the ceiling. "Come on Clammy, too chicken to fight a true predator?"

Kylx sighed.  As much as he would like to see one of his students get eaten, his career wouldn't be able to handle another inquiry like that.  Reaching into his desk, he pulled out a small disk shaped object.  Pushin a button on the edge, there was a bright flash.  A tiny sun formed from hydrogen in the air.  As it came into being, the lights flickered and a sharp Electro-magnetic spike was sent out.  Kylx couldn't feel it, but no doubt the Tropian could.

"GRAAH!" NOS squeled, falling to floor in a heap of fingers. "What is this? Seismic activity?" He shakily got to his feet, but wandered around the room aimlessly, often stumbling and bumping into things. His other senses were overridden with the sudden flood of sensory feedback, and this new magnetic feild destroyed his internal compass.

"Make it stop!" NOS collapsed and flailed wildly, totally unsure of whether he was in the same galaxy anymore. If he had predictated that little stunt would be pulled, he could have turned off that sense. "I'll feast on your innards for this, Clammy! I'll shove your little machine into your mouth, and tear out those fancy blades of yours..." NOS shouted, insults lining up in his throat, preparing to be yelled.

Kylx pushed the button again and the sun dissapated.

"Refrain from causing trouble in my class Tropian.  This was but a warning." he said menicingly.

NOS shot a menacing glare. "Racist..."

He secretly began to plot his revenge. Not just on 'Clammy' but on this new teacher, as well. He had a plan to kill to Vivarum with one bite...

Xati had awoken late that morning, and was scuttling down the halls of the school to his class. On his way, he passed by a scuffle between the Graid, Trophian, and his Katair teacher. He paused to observe the interaction, but lost intrest and continued to the class, entering and finding his seat early. He sat at the back, a prime observation post.

((We're in the class.  At least, to my understanding.  I mean, Kylx was, I'm not sure about the others.  Mabey I didn't pay enough attention.  Ah well.  Onwards))

"Exploiting your opponent's weaknesses isn't racisim." Kylx said, shuffling through some files on his datapad, not bothering ot look up. "It's something refered to as strategy.  Of course, I don't blame one with such obvious mental deficiencies as yourself for never having heard of such thing.  It's not your fault your speicie's brain can barley match that of a Jarkle."

Moments later, the bell rang.  "Alright then." He said, clapping his hands together. "Anyone comming in after this point are late.  I'll wait a few more minutes for those late to get here on time so they don't interupt me."

"Bah, put down by a low-grade teacher in a slum school whose race could barely create a genetic puddle, much less colonize their own planet, and a weakling little shellfish who has to hide behind a teacher, and can barely see two feet in front of him. I'm so scared. You refer to me as an ignorant beast, yet my species, or culture, in your case Clammy, has its own planet, several other colonized worlds, and technology rivaling yours'!"

NOS stalked off, beggining to enact his plan...

Mr Kar-la woke up from under his desk, he feel asleep from the heat, although it may seem normal for most species, it was very hot for a race adapted to freezing cold. And he still couldn't believe that the school made him teach robotics, robotics, although his race were gifted with robotics, he was not a crafter, simple robots he could make, but not the extremly advanced ones.

Well, at least he had a good project for his new class...

One more rule: No more alien baby-making. None.}}

((No alien baby making?!?  :'(

Ah,well. Good things all have to come to an end.

Is it too late to join? I was on vacation. I'd hate to miss this.))

I think this one has already died, though I'm not ready to give up on the series just yet.  We just gotta get more people next time, preferably from past games.
