Blood Diamond
« on: August 13, 2007, 09:06:35 am »
Can't believe nobody has made a thread for this film already.

I saw it today for the first time - it's brilliant, and DiCaprio was excellent with his South African accent as the diamond runner/arms dealer.  Really makes me want to exploit a poor African country and make a monstrous profit through unethical means... I think I've misinterpreted the message of the film.  Yah yah?

Yep, this Movie is simply amazing I felt very sorry for the African people that this was happening too but more so for the man that had his child taken away from him. He did a great job of conveying his feelings and his acting was great...very emotional. However this movie can get intense in some places.(The Child Soldier Scenes)

Mike, we need to do something about your sig.

I'm fairly sure it's against forum guidelines.

Other than that, welcome.

I saw this film, it was great. Very polished, yet gritty at the same time.

I laughed at this film. The accent was horrendous (I sat next to a South African girl at school, and she sounded nothing like Leo) and the story was droll to the extreme.

To be honest I might be biased against Mr di Caprio as I don't like him, but come to think of it, I did like Catch Me If You Can, so my original statement stands, it was the film and not him ;p

If you notice, he says the word "Dous" or something like that under his breath at one point.

As someone who comes from South Africa, I feel obliged to share the meaning to anyone who pms me.  (Its a swearword)
