Right now I am reading Fulgrim, I have had it a while but I haven't finished it since I burrowed it to a friend and I either sleep a lot more on my way home from school or talk to my friends who started going to school in the same city as me.

I just finished 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time' and 'Slaughterhouse Five' for my summer reading. Meh... they were okay. Not really into those genres, I'm more of a fantasy, sci-fi kinda guy.

I just bought the first in the Dune series, but I'm only 4 pages in. Haven't had any time to read it, so far.

I just got done with ROBOTA. It was an okay read, but the writing was... wierd. Like it had been translated from another language without bothering to actually make it understandable for Americans. I got the general gist of it, but it was confusing. Thankfully, it was one of those books with full-page paintings to show what's happening, so I understood it well enough. >_>

Also, I read a book called Gnomes. It's sort of a guidebook on Gnomes (not those wussy DnD Gnomes, I mean full fledged Lawn Gnomes!), their habits, their relationships, ancient primitive Gnomes, the reason why they wear their giant cone hats, even why they shake their head alot. Has some artistic nudity, nothing bad though. Not nearly as bad as some of the stuff Picasso did, and many other older artists. But, anyway, it was funny in an odd, scientific way.

As a side note, until I read this book, I had no idea that there were evil, Siberian Gnomes.

I haven't been able to finish the last four chapters in the third Dune book for a year. I just don't know why I can't pull myself together to read it.

That's weird. Did it get boring or you just don't feel like continuing?

Also, did you like the first Dune book? I know it's widely adored, but just to get a more personal opinion.

I don't think I got bored, actually I stopped right around when one of the major plot points is gonna happen. The Dune books, for some reason, didn't capture me right from the start, maybe because I couldn't appreciate them properly, maybe they did just bore me but I couldn't admit. I have always loved the universe though.

Whatever the reason, I did find the first book to be rather good at least from what I remember, it details a lot of things about the Planet Dune and sets you in the mood for the others.

I just bought George Orwell's 1984 (in Danish).

Once I am done with Fulgrim I am defiantly starting it.

doubleplusgood duckthinker?

My favourite novel, but I imagine it's more effective in English.

Yes, I am aware of the irony.

Probably, though I am dismissing the translation yet. My experience with translations isn't the best but you can always hope. It was a little cheaper then it would have been if I had to import it from Britain so I thought, what the hell.

Right now I'm reading The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.

So far it's a great book, and if I had to give a quick review it would be this:

A book for nerds, by a nerd, about a nerd.

For nerds: The book uses references to so much sci-fi/fantasy literature and geek culture items (DnD being one example).

By a nerd: Written by the professor for writing in MIT.

About a nerd: Tells the tale of a poor fat Dominican enthralled with making modules to the latest role-playing games and his fuk˙ed family.

Since my own google results drew up nothing, fuk˙ is a curse placed upon someone.
