What are you reading?
« on: August 07, 2007, 10:33:22 am »
Inspired by the 'What are you listening to?' thread, we have it's literary counterpart.

Currently:

The Illuminatus Trilogy
A trilogy which I have in one book, about the Illuminati. Brilliant but very trippy. Fictional novel

Lou Reed's biography
Interesting, and he sure as hell was screwed up.

The Barry Trotter books
Parodies of the Harry Potter novels. Hilarious.

(Yes, I generally read several books at once. I have no problem doing this provided they are not overly similiar, in whihc case I get confused.)

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." - Oscar Wilde

Yes, I am aware of the irony.

I'm not reading anything at the moment, but I read 8 or 9 books in the past month...so I think I'm burned out for now...

Harry Potter (only read it about 3 or 4 times since it came out, dunno why)

Some weird book about paranormal crap and stuff of that nature. Interesting read.

I'm re-reading the Homecoming series (5 books) by Orson Scott Card while I'm at work (during breaks). I have to be careful though; if I start reading them at home, I won't do anything else. Books have a tendency to consume me. So that's why it's important I try to read only at work, when I have to stop reading.

Right now I am reading The Horus Heresy Fulgrim, I haven't gotten very far. I just finished The Children of Men, a good book, but the movie was very different.

I'm finally coming up to the end of The Glass Bead Game by Hesse, this one's taken me a lot longer than I thought. Although, that's probably because I keep dropping it to pick up other books.

Once again, great series.

I strongly recommend OSC's book, Treason, to you or anyone else who likes SF/OSC.
