Title: Revolution: will there be PAL/NTSC versions or only one?
Post by: Dent on April 03, 2006, 11:53:12 pm
One of my dislikes with the GameCube is the old PAL/NTSC issue, where there are different versions of the console.

One of the disadvantages of this for PAL cube owners, is that its not possible to get a S-Video output - you have to jump up to component or Scart.
Im really hoping the Revolution does not have different hardware versions for different regions (other than maybe the PSU) - I saw there were rumours of a worldwide launch, which is probably easier to do with one version of the hardware.

Any info on this?

It's too early to tell.  Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 don't have region locks on them, but then almost every game is region locked instead.
If it is a worldwide launch, which is unlikely as it's Nintendo, then us PAL users would be getting the system at the same time as America anyway.

I'm guessing we'll know the release date and everything at e3, so we'll just have to wait until that.
