Also, I never got out of the city alive. I'm sorry, DoctorZ. It wouldn't have worked out anyway.

Base report:

USA increased funding, every other nation decreased. Terrible month financially.

Using new money to expand base and properly equipt squad. Now is the time to request weapons and equiptment. We are also taking on more research staff and purchasing new equiptment for the interception crafts if we can afford it.

Prof. Kraw and Yuu seem to rub each other the wrong way, although Plasma and Plank of Wood seem to have become pals. Rachel keeps telling me the pistols are inadequate, or something. Just for that, I'm issuing her a pistol sidearm. HA!

Denied allegations we took Saudi arabian police officer discharged for brutality, or rumors about extremist faction soldiers. Nosiree, we're all shiny happy people from the U.S. of A. I swear.

Now, everyone place your weapon orders and other stuff you'd like to do.

January 29th, Karachi, India

Yuu and Plank of wood hastily scampered back to the ship pursued by a hail of green energy. Yuu got out his radio and and contacted everyone once they had safely hid under the skyranger.

"Guys, check in!"
"Rachel."
"Gbroderix here!"
"Insanimagus!"
"Er, Plank!"
"Plank, you're standing right next to me. You don't need to check in."
"But you said guys. You didn't exclude me."
"Shush."
"Well, you didn't."
"I said shut up."
"No, you said 'Guy's, check in!', not 'Hey Plank of Wood, why don't you shut up.'"

Insanimage cut them off.

"Guys?"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah?"
"Shut up."

Everyone shut up. Eventually Yuu remembered why he got the radio out in the first place, and said "Everyone come back and regroup. I think, uh, we're going to need to co-operate for this one."

Everyone chorused agreements and started sneaking back to the skyranger. Gbroderix and Insanimage returned first, shortly thereafter followed by Rachel. Then, as they assembled to talk to each other, a tank sized silver disk floated over the building and hit Yuu with a bolt of green energy right in the torso. Yuu teetered, groaned, and shot a burst of panicked rifle fire at it. The gunfire ricocheted off the metal disk. Then Rachel, Plank of wood and Insanimage all let loose at it.

The rocket flew wide and hit the building next to the saucer, blowing a smoking hole in the apartment building. Plank of wood managed to hit it several times to no effect while dodging it's return fire, and Insanimage hit it dead on with a ball of conjured fire.

There was a groaning noise, and the silver disk fell out of the sky and landed with a crunch.

Then it exploded.

Insanimage suddenly clutched at his head, and began to moan. "My head, oaahhh...!"

Plank of wood, who was second in command, grabbed Yuu and carried him up the skyranger ramp, and bellowed "Everybody IN!" as the sniper slowly bled puddles. Gbroderix did not need a second order and bolted up the ramp. Rachel, however, ran over to insanimage and crouched next to the spellcaster.

"Hey, you okay?"

Insanimage blinked sleepily, then turned and looked at Rachel.

"Err, yeah, I think so. Oh god, my head."
"C'mon, let's go. Probably just combat stress. Move it!"

And Rachel pushed insanimage up the ramp, where Gbroderix was applying a bandage to Yuu. Meanwhile, Plank of wood was starting up the ship. The ramp raised, and the skyranger retreated back to home.

X-com base, Hangar room, Manhattan. 3:10 in the morning.

The team limped out of the skyranger, Yuu now walking and talking again, despite the burns. They were greeted by a man in a lab coat with a shaggy blond beard. Standing next to him was a women in a set of brown overalls with a lopsided grin, and a man holding a bundle of red wires.

"Hello, hello, how are you?" said the Blond man, "I am Proffesor Kraw, PhD. To my right is Madis, an engineer, and to my left is Plasma, our expert demolition-man. We are, ah, here to assist you."

Yuu blinked sleepily at him. "So who the hell are you, again?"

"Have you seen the news, man? They're calling your, ah, tactical withdraw a major failure. Mister Glacies is out, ah, smoothing things out with the U.N., while the Indian media is baying for your blood. I'm here to, ah, fill the gaps, and these two are my assistants. I do hope we can, ah, get along."

Glacies' log for the January end mission is as follows:

Yuu did not actually get shot. Artistic license, woohoo. And now the team has all eight people. Eventually we can talk base expansions. Everyone can post the weapon of choice they want...althought the demolitions expert will, of course, be handling heavy explosives.

Who says, asides from you? If they were just outright better, then why do we have the option for eggs?

Yeah. But that wouldn't be much of a metagame...

Well, my X-com metagame thingy doesn't have pictures, but, er.

I stand by my decision for eggs.

Eggs are easier to draw.

Eggs. When we have specialized roles. we can have "queens" that lay eggs nonstop. Then, later, we could develop ways to get to other organisms and turn them into Tragdanite factories.

D. then A.

Guns then butter, people.

". . . matters should be so ordered that when men no longer believe of their own accord, they may be compelled to believe by force." -- Machiavelli

Yeah, but we don't want peacekeepers bombing us in the name of freedom. So let's act all nice and peacefull for now. My vote is for B, then A.

Rogue galaxy is alright..sort of. The scenery is all copypasta and the dungeons are linear, identical corridors and the plot makes me cry blood from my arse. But the combat is fun except for that stupid shield-breaker gun you have to switch to, which breaks the flow of the battle. And some of the scenery actually is pretty cool looking.

Er. So maybe it isn't all that great. The weapon-combiney thingy and the poke-bug things are okay.
