Maybe there is gonna be a top 10 of most downloaded creatures on the EA website. then every month they print that top 10 on cards and sell them as booster packs. that way people will put more effort in creating creatures, buildings, planets or whatever to get into that top 10. thus getting nicer cards (keeping the quality high).

- EA won't have too much printing costs because they don't have to print everything
- there will be a select amount of different cards to collect (making it collectable)
- people keep creating new creatures and stuff, trying to get into that top 10 (thus constantly expanding the database)
- Gamers will be extra rewarded if they find their own creature in a booster pack.

to make sure that everybody gets a chance: if Your card has been selected to be placed in a booster pack, you will be removed from the top 10 and be placed in some kind of 'Hall of Fame' (just a database of all printed cards). so if your on 12th place in June.. you'll be on second place in July (as long as nobody makes a nicer creature then yours), and your card will be printed in July..

I think that the computer will try to nail down the theme of the city (similar shapes, placements of shapes on buildings, door/window styles, etc.) and then if a building doesn't match the ruling them (which could be changed gradually anyway) then there will be a negative effect on the happiness of your people.
don't think it'll always be a negative effect. but i agree with the thought of theme calculation.

the buildings will probably have slots within them. big buildings will have more slots then small (but also use up more space and cost more ot build)the slots can be  filled with points (cultural points, building speed points or economic points)

they said there would be a cultural victory over cities.. so some kind of missionary or something will probably be in the game.

i think you'll only get one UFO.
the universe/galaxy/solarsystem looks alot like a normal directory browsing system. universe is the root, galaxy directory and solarsystem the subdrectory. the planets are the files which you can do stuff with. as Will noted, the game goes from storyline gaming to sandbox mode. i think that means that every planet is a new sandbox you can do stuff with.

i think that if there were any interstellar things within the game, Will would have showed it in the spore demo of GDC 2005

i know what you mean.......... but with this game... it's different

the whole prodecuraly stuff within this game is a new way of game development. i don't care if this game will have limits i wish weren't there. it's a new way of game development, spore is introducing. which i hope too see more in the future. (vb. prodecuraly generated villages for RPG + procedural NPC's and Missions...... games will be limitless)

i love the game because it will be the first of it's generation :)
