Everything Else / Re: So i bought an electric guitar...

Don't worry, you don't need a preamp or amplifier to record electric guitar onto your computer.

You just need some software on your PC to increase the gain on the guitar, once the volume switch is all the way up on your instrument, that is it's maximum output.

Everything that an amp can do, software does too, albeit with a small amount of latency.

On the software side, I use Apple's Logic 8 audio sequencing program, combined with Native Instruments' Guitar Rig plug-in, this software emulates thousands of amps with no detectable latency and sounds fantastic.

The plug-in works stand-alone, but you won't be able to record or edit without a sequencer.

I am most excited, of all things, for Geometry Wars 2, I must have put as many hours into Retro Evolved as I did for Oblivion.... a lot!

I'm not really too bothered about this game but I know there are loads on this forum that are, there's some kind of live stream on now that I saw on Digg, check it out. Won't be on for long though.

That is all,

I'm having a few friends round in a week or so and would love to play this game with them but the UK price tag is rediculous. I'm trying to find somewhere that rents out the band in box set so I can have it for a night or two.

God I hate the iPhone now,

For two years not a single day has passed without it appearing on the frontpage of Digg in at least 3 stories at any given moment.

And you guessed it, he's banging on about it literally as I type.

I also heard a theory that if we breathed CO2, we'd never die of natural causes.

Thanks. I needed a good laugh.

That's utterly ridiculous.

Cancer, heart attacks, strokes, lung disease, malaria, etc.

All natural. nothing to do with oxygen being destructive.

It depends on your definition of 'natural causes'.

Most of the afflictions you mentioned are perhaps assumed by people to be 'unnatural'

But in actuality, I suppose everybody who dies of old age die due to some kind of disease or cancer.

Isn't it thoroughly rare for somebody with perfect health to just die for no apparent reason?

I think BumpyRide is referring to those few who pass away despite seemingly good health.

Is that screen real? I'm skeptical because it would be strange for the online play to implemented on the xbox live service so relatively early in development.

Yeah every year when the last leaf falls from it's branch, me and my family gather in the garden of light, and perform our ancient paganistic ritual to satisfy the sun gods and present to them our human sacrifice.

Oh, did I day that alloud?

In an attempt to replace your rediculous dog's head with a human one, you tragically die from lack of a head. Pwnd

Yeah I just don't believe it's in character for the Locusts to even shed a thought for the safety of a fellow grunt. Although I suppose it was act as a semi effective bullet-sponge.

I'm pretty enjoying it actually, God Of War was absolutely awesome, I just finished it and playing it through again which is rare for me. Lumines 2 and Wipeout are both great and Daxter is good also.

Mine is a child account (I stupidly decided not to lie about my age when they asked for data) and I can downloaded all the demos, even those such as Condemned and Bioshock.

Makes you wonder, if they're going to try and enforce age ratings, they may as well do it properly.

I suspect though this is because the demos are not completed products and haven't been rated yet.

I'd love to be able to install disc based games and no longer need to load the game from the disc.

Many times I've not been bothered to play a game just because it involves getting up, walking to the shelf, picking up the box, opening the box, taking the disc out, finding the box for the old game, taking the old game out of the console, putting it in the correct box, placing the box back on the shelf in the correct place, placing the new game into the console, putting the new game's box back on the shelf, then sitting down again.

I'm a gamer, and they expect me to move?

I understand there would be some DRM complications, but if they must they could implement some kind of activation feature where the game can only be played on one gamertag at a time.

Too right, sometimes when I cant be bothered with the headset I'll try aiming upwards or running in circles to try and state my peace.

It never works.

Having said that, saying "For christ's sake stop shooting everybody you see you selfish git!" never works either.
