The other thread is about the Spore site update, this one is about the  Leipzig Game Conference.
I suggest to use this one as the "official" GC thread (because this is the first) to avoid opening a lot of "official"  GC discussion thread as it happened in case of E3. :)

I love them, especially the human faces in the creature section. It is a good example  than at Maxis they aren't do body/building/etc. parts randomly, but after making studies about the subject, including all of the possibilities.

If I won't have enough pocket money when Spore is released, (and it wouldn't be surprising) I will pirate it. If I have money I will buy, but I don't want to wait other months for it.


btw, I don't know personally any person who have at least one legally bought game, in my country it is absolutely casual.

Okay, sorry, couldn't resist. ^^;  Seriously though, I like the idea of the cell stage being pseudo-2D.  It's the image of celular life we all have, really; those videos and slides we'd all watch in grade school, studying things under a microscope ourselves... yes, the cellular world IS in three dimensions, but when you think of an amoeba, what usually comes to mind?  Those cheesy videos with their two dimensions.  So long story short, I'm content with the way it looks now.

I didn't want to be funny I just didn't find a better word, I just now realized the "deeper" meaning of this.

My idea is than it could be the same than the underwaterwater life, maybe with green liquid, what becames bluer and bluer as you grows, and the body parts are cell parts at first, later creature parts.This could make the transition seamless. The gameplay could be still simple,but more enjoyable.

The last picture we have seen from this stage is more than a year old, so we don't know what did they change. I don't say they did it, but please try to believe than they made it more complex. Also I want to ask, what other things do you wait from this stage? My suggestions:
 Upload/download user created microorganisms.
 totally different einvorment when the creature grows(like growing 10-100 times bigger).
 A lot of stuff.

I found a small article on a Hungarian Sims 2 fan site. At first, I wasn't very exited, but weeks later when I was bored, i searched for it, just because I didn't have a better thing to do, than I found "The Video".

The city and the civ stage are in the same time, the SimCity style city building game is te city stage, the interacting with other cities is the civ stage.
I think the civ stage is also part of tribe stage, becouse you can interact with other tribes.

Probably this is the most unfinished stage, because it is difficult to create a civ that is so different from ours, think on vehicles, buildings, how they use the fire, etc.
