Forum Games / Master of Disguise
« on: February 06, 2008, 12:39:20 pm »
You are a former con artist trying to catch people masquerading as you.  The catch is that you yourself need a disguise or else other cons will hand you in.
You score points by catching other players disguised as yourself or not wearing a disguise. You need to state your disguise in EVERY post you make (or else it counts as not having one), and you can only disguise yourself as someone who has posted in the thread.  You must make a post announcing your entry in the game one hour before catching anyone.
Poster D
I am disguised as poster B.
Poster B
I catch poster D and get one point.
Score: 1
Poster C
I catch poster B, who is not wearing a disguise.  I am disguised as poster A.
Score: 1

Unfortunately, I begin this game undisguised.

Movies / Movies styled like a game

Steve mentioned 300, but there are a few others, namely:
-Kung Fu Hustle
-The Matrix series
-Shaolin Soccer
-Samurai Jack

Anyway, go ahead and list any ones that you have seen. On a related note, why hasn't there been a hyper-stylized action movie set during WWII? Are we still sensitive about that? Because WWII flicks nowadays are so much less awesome than the ones from the fifties and sixties.

Do your part today to end discrimination and prejudice in all its forms!

- Ask someone about their religion.
- Say hello to a minimum wage worker you rely on.
- Program a handheld device to generate a random number for you. Then use it to pick choose a person when you need to pick a person to do something, and to the best of your knowledge all your choices seem capable of it.
- Avoid watching TV shows and movies with stereotypes. Alternatively, watch them, observe the stereotypes, and provide a counterexample that you've noticed.
- Scold Xbox Live users

I'm curious... can X360 games be hosted on a network?  If so, is there a universal game browsing tool?

Forum Games / Cast Bar
« on: January 16, 2008, 02:39:19 pm »
This game is relatively simple: make a bet on how long it will be until the next post.  The next poster is then obligated to award or remove points (equal to the number of minutes) based on whether your bet was successful or not, copying the scoreboard into every post he makes.  Only one post is allowed per poster per hour.

Aybraus (12:00)
My bet is 4 minutes.
Patman33 (12:07)
Aybraus's bet is sucessful.  My bet is 16 minutes.

Current score:
Aybraus: 4 points
LadyM (12:18)
Sorry Patman33, you lose that one.  I bet 3 minutes

Current score:
Aybraus 4
Patman33 -16

Welcome to the Auction House, where you can bid on a variety of goods useful to any galactic superpower.  Each item's description consists of the following:

Basic item description
Estimated price
Complete item description
True price

Please note that the complete item description and true price are encrypted with a code that you will only know after completing a purchase.  All bids must be done in Senate Energy Units, which we consider to be the most stable currency at this time.  The average life form earns about 2 SEU in his lifetime.
Auctions expire 24 hours after the last bid
Speed limiter probe hack
This devices enables you to temporarily disable the speed-limiting probes that currently surround most planets and force ships to drop their relative velocity to a tenth of lightspeed.  Under current galactic law, modifying a ship to ignore the signals given off by these probes is punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment.  Disabling the probes allows you to use a temporary loophole in the law, and saves you time and energy while traveling in a dense solar system.
Estimated price is 1450SEU

The Market Commission is a powerful business empire made up of many races. It's profits come from a wide spectrum of operations, both legal and illegal. While it is not the largest organization involved in the black market, it is by far the most credible. It maintains an extremely high standard of client satisfaction, and is responsible for a relatively low amount of violent crime.  Many illegal goods and services, such as certain types of drugs, prostitution, and weaponry have been denounced by the Commission and are never purchased or sold.
The head of the Market Commission remains unknown, though members of the company claim that it is now a custom-built AI.

I've invented three products that I hope to hawk off to board game manufacturers.  All three are light-hearted strategy games designed to showcase various mechanics that would integrate well with other games. I'm hoping to get a scholarship out of them, since my family's run a bit low on funds as of late.
