It's not really worth trying unless you have Interstellar Drive 5.

Agreed.  I tried at 4 and got stuck near the center.  Had to dive a wormhole and go home the long way to unlock 5 via delivery missions.

And yes.  Get lots and lots of health and energy packs.  You can always dive down onto a planet under fire and click one of each to keep running.

Really? I managed to get there twice with drive 4's ;)

Either way, getting to the core is tricky - health packs are an excellent idea, as well as a wormhole key.

Using wormholes/blackholes, you can sometimes find a route right up close to the centre (Although it might take some searching).

I wouldn't recommend trying to take the Grox on in a straight fight as their ships are strong and numerous. Also, if you want to avoid your home worlds becoming a Grox nuke testing zone, you should turn off your defences.

Either that or Rick Astley ripped off the bible in one of his songs..... Maybe people should look up Poe’s Law.

Just did and grinned.

Godwins law is another good one.

Spore: General / Re: Statement EA - Maxis on SecuRom

All I got from there was EA does not trust people who actually buy the game.....thanks EA/

Indeed. I was really tempted to download the pirated version of Spore pre-'official' release but didn't in the end. However, after reading this BS, I'm tempted too just to spite them.

The pirates have already made copies, broken the SecuRom, and all that. The only thing 3 activations does is irrate anyone who installs new hardware (graphics cards, etc). And this whole thing about 'please contact customer support to get more activations is just retarded given how *poor* EA customer support is.

We knew this would happen from the very beginning, so why is everyone like OMFG WTF DUMB CREATIONISTS at something they knew was happening. Have you ever considered that this guy is a troll, and doesn't actualy belive a word he says? If so, you all just got trolled.

I found it somewhat amusing, really, especially given how affronted it is:

Quote from: Nutter/Troll from website
In Genesis 1:2 there is more talk about God’s work. “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”

So it’s clear that Earth was made by God’s hand, not science. From this God moved to creating all the creatures, notice there is never talk of creatures ‘evolving’ into other creatures, instead God is able to make the creatures as he will including man.

*can't breath in and drops death*

Another Gem I found floating on the internet.

Here we witness Will drag on about evolution and his game for a bit, bragging about using millions of people as unpaid slaves to create content for his game.

Then he trots out the founder of SETI, Mr. Frank Drake.

I think it is entirely possible that God created civilizations on other planets.  But because Will Wright has brainwashed Frank Drake into thinking that life in the universe gave rise to “super humans” on other planets that are better than us.

God would never create something better than himself, it is not possible as God is perfect in every way.  And once again, I reiterate that man was created in His image.

Yes, I have been whipped alot by Will lately for not keeping up with my quota of creations for the game. Please help me!

Ok, after reading abit more, I actually feel sorry for her, and her son (presuming its not a troll). So wrapped up in her extremism and her fanatical believes that she seems to want to enforce on everyone.

Gec dont say CHristian..casue most Christians arent your  stereotypical Bible Belt nut jobs you know..just say over religiouse people or extremists((Which atheists have too :P))

Yeha,At first I thought it was about how bad some people find the game too be but then I realised,wtf...he's the sort of guy who thinks Harry potter is a code book for the Devil and lego are the building blocks to hell :D

lol the only people that will read the blog are getitng links from spore sites *L*

Indeed - Lego is the first warning sign of sin - if you see your child or children even glancing at lego, or any of these wicked and sinful 'toys', immendiately beat them to within an inch of their life, as thats how integellent children of God should ensure the rabid following continues.

On a side issue, feel free to ignore the stuff about no meat on Fridays, and all that. Because ... erm....

Sorry, couldn't resist. Meh, I think he's entitled to believe whatever rubbish he chooses to, so long as it doesn't affect me (i.e. can he vote in the UK or US elections?)

And seriously, I don't get America's problem with evolution. If their just 'teaching the conterversy', why not have the big-bang theory in R.E?

Captain Picard... is....god.

Make it so.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Kirk and Sisco too? And Janeway?

Bump - And really, what are Crop circles for? They don't seem to have any effect....?

Can I trick the primitives into viewing my space ship as a god using it? I suspect the Monoliths will grant the user a race that views the senter as god-like.

Spore: General / Spore save system needs an auto-save (vaguely tool spoiler)

*Morphian creates small but increasingly strong Empire, increasing the number of T2 worlds*

*Morphian, after a hour or 2 manages to get the atmosphere acculator tool to increase atmosphere cheaply*

*Morphian cheers and soon has more T2 worlds. He then gets the Cloud vacuum and manages to create a T3 world. He smiles*

*Morphian manages to get the heat and cold tools, alooks upon the galaxy's poor worlds with a grin*

*He creates a another 2 T3 worlds*

*Game Crashs. Morphian is agast! But tries the save file, hopefully*

*Game loads, and its back where he started - no tools at all*

*Morphian twinches madly!*

Edit: *Morphian then curls up into a ball and mutters to himself* I must not cheat, I must not cheat

I honestly would and do like the Space stage apart from the obvious:

Constant, unending raids by pirates!

Overly hositile aliens that my hugely fortified city's can't seem to hold off

But terraforming is actually fun - I enjoyed taking an ice world, slowly adding atmosphere and heat, and watching the permaforst giving way to land. I enjoyed seeding the plants and animals to maintain this state of affairs. Hell, I even sortof liked the trading to get the cash and good tools (Although it seems odd to me my colonies don't just give me spore bucks, nor do trade-routes --- what are they for, anyway? Tradroutes? Aside from good relations).

But the attacks and having to return to my worlds to stop eco-collapse, or to 'stop' an alien attack (even though my world had fully turreted itself and killed the attackers very quickly without my help) is too grinding - I enjoy the combat every so often, but its not good constantly any time you try and expand beyond 3 star systems.

The sandbox aspect of the game , was one of the things that drew me the most.

Paying for tools to do so seems is discouraging.

Are there not cheat codes for pretty much everything you could need, though?

If you have to cheat to have fun/enjoy it, the game is broken :\

Sweet, didn't even know there was a gaming Steve one :)

It seems random picking from the whole database is down or not functioning - hopefully, Maxis will sort this one soon - however, in the mean time, Sporecasts DO work (although you have to subscribe through the US site because the EU one is down at the moment).

Post your recommended Sporecasts here! (No Sporon please ;) )

Personally, I'm enjoying the PC Gamer ones. (search: PC Gamer)

hmm, say's the server's down now.

Mine's working :)

I have a nugget of info here.
At first when I tried to log in (first attempt on first boot of the game) I got "Login Failed - The code for this installation is invalid and cannot be used to link this product to your account.", BUT when I clicked the ok button and tried again, I got the other message straight after: "You do not have the proper privileges to use this product's online features."

Same here - and every time I restart spore to log in

I'd like to point out that -inspite- of this problem, I'm really, really, really loving spore so far :) Up to the creature stage

Edit: And I PM'ed my details to MaxisPuzzle

"You do not have the proper priviliges to use this product's online features"
