I really don't think the spore team will implement that into the game, raising controversy in the process.
Looking at you GTA: San Andreas ::).

But anyway, if gender roles and sexual dimmorphism were in the game than I assume that will be in the form off mods created by the fans. Hopefully...
there won't be sexual orientation or any of that stuff in the game because there won't even be genders.

Trying to think outside "the box".

I am thinking more on concepts that how the animal looks.

Some things i want to design.

An creature that has 4-6 high legs. Around Giraf height. at the top the animal is placed like a board. And it can stand still for days and just look down on the ones going around/underneath it.

Maybe even have a long tongue to catch its prey/poison spit downwards perhaps. Or it could just be a really high herbivore that can easy reach fruits on high trees.

Have not worked the concept out.

Another could be an animal with arms as feet and feet that is going up in the air....maybe upside/down creature....not exactly finished the thought on it.

Those kind of strange animals will I try to make.

I will make a thread about how people brain storm...to see how other people think outside the box. Like how they come up with the really wierd but great ideas.
I don't think you can do that. In one of the most recent videos (the one with the guy who didn't know what he was doing) he made arms but then decided he was going to make them into legs. As soon as he added feet the legs snapped downward so the feet touched the ground.  It makes a lot of sense that they would do that so it prevents people from not being able to figure out why their creature will only use 2/4 legs because some of them aren't all the way on the ground.

Absolutely.  And they would be replaced by a species of equal strength.
really? that's kind of cool.

i dunno about the rest of you guys, but I can't see the first two pictures in the original post. Anyone have any idea why that might be, or having that problem yourself?

If you can't see them.. How do you know they are there?
good question ;)

2 reasons:
1) I can see a big box that a picture is supposed to be in when I first load the page but then after a long time of loading it goes away.
2) I tried quoting the post so that I could get the links to the website that the picture was from and when I did i found that there was supposed to be a third picture that didn't even start to load. I copied the addresses into my address bar and the page loaded endlessly.

I don't know if the links are dead or if I just can't see 'em for some reason.

Me too. But uhm.. what should we do right now?

I'm guessing the Sporepedia system will be up as soon as the CC goes live, so we should be able to setup the Sporecast right away as soon as we get it.

exactly, plus we can do what Gorman Conall said and setup a sticky thread having pictures of the creatures were submitting into the sporecast, with the creators names next to it, and when the game goes live, a link to the myspore entry for the sporecast at the bottom of the sticky
and that way as more people contribute we can update the sporecast or make new ones (gaming steve 1, gaming steve 2) or even themed ones (gaming steve desert, gaming steve letters, gaming steve etc)
can one person make multiple sporecasts? I just assumed that each account counted as a sporecast.  Now that I think about it though it makes a lot of sense for people to be able to sort their online content.

I have been using this name since I played DnD at age 7 (not quite 20 years XD)

I wonder if we'll have an option to use existing youtube accounts for that part of the CC's functionality, and will we already be able to use Sporepedia and make podcasts? There hasn't been any showing of Sporepedia in the CC yet, so I'm thinking no (maybe on the website? else we must wait until we have the game).
I'm thinking we probably will have to register an account on YouTube and then enter in the password and login name in Spore. That means I think we will probably have to use an existing account.  If everyone who got spore had to make another YouTube account....that would be crazy amounts of new accounts :o

i'm in. If it's not possible to make groups in the sporepedia we should all label (under tags in the editor) our creatures as "gamingsteve" and our gamingsteve forum names.  That way even it it won't be possible to make groups we'll be able to find and download each others content.

Flying cars are, however, the result of ignorant and useless presuming. Unless you have a concise understanding of our current state of technology you'll most definitely be wrong. Sure go ahead and presume what you want, but don't try to pawn it off as something useful and potential.
Also, flying cars already exist, they're just too expensive for mass construction at this point (and don't get me started on how many laws would have to be changed). So, apparently the people who presumed there would be flying cars were not the ignorant ones, because there are and in the future with new sources of energy they will be more practical and cheaper to maintain than they are today.

Of course flying cars exist. That wasn't really the point. Everyone who thought about flying cars presumed that everyone would have one. They also believed that they could mount nuclear reactors onto cars and while that's possible, it's not practical(Or safe).
Well, who is to say that in the future everyone won't have a flying car? Just because we don't now doesn't mean we won't anytime in the future.
just an FYI:
the Transition (R) made by Terrafugia, Inc.
it's reservable and is targeted for launch in late 2009

I don't remember what brought to gamingsteve.com but from there I learned of spore. It was only a few months ago and by 3 days after I learned about I had read everything there was to read about spore and I had seen all the videos. I started telling my friends about it but people don't seem to understand spore unless they see it for themself. It also helps if they find out about by themselves. A couple of my friends had heard of it and thought it looked cool but didn't follow up on it. Most of my other friends were pretty indifferent, although some are into the idea and willing to listen when I tell them about it and others just think I'm over hyping it and it won't be as goodas I seem to think it'll be

the day i found spore i was awe struck, i really was. i told everyone about it. for some reason no one truly understood its genius. soon they will. soon...

MUAHAHAHHAA  8)
I did too but no one ever understood for some reason. :-\
yea...no one ever does seem to understand... :-\
but as darkwanderer puts it:
soon they will. soon...

I'm not entirely sure what this post is going to look like because I'm writing it from my iPod which decided it didn't want to scroll or preview this post... :(

Maybe as you technology develops YOU are the cause of epic creatures accidentally (see Godzilla = radiation).

Alien ray guns and UFOs are powered by something. Maybe it has effects on your environment? I'm just doing a lot of guess work here (which goes without saying) but it would fit into the vision of the game. You get the power to make Epics mid-to-late is Space phase I believe I heard someone say in a video.

Or it could just be evolution gone nuts. Or maybe it's caused by and angered LimeCat.
I think your theory of evolution gone nuts is probably more likely because we've seen videos of epics in the creature phase.

Hmm...about 3/4 of the way through the UFO fights multiple ships. Perhaps there will be more to space battles than this single-ship-covering-an-entire-empire silliness as I previously thought.
didn't they say in one of the recent interviews or videos (i get em all mixed up, there's so many all of the sudden) that when you make an alliance a ship from that civilization follows you UFO around and helps you the same way posses work in the creature phase?  or is that something i dreamed and convinced myself was real because it would be so awesome? :P

maybe that was just an "aircraft" and not a "ufo"

I'd say so. The vehicle editor can make "ufo looking" planes...
yea, i think it's pretty likely those are planes. They all look the same and since you can only have one UFO (from what they've said so far it seems very likely that these are just UFO style planes.
