Spore: Sporepedia Exchange / Martham's Meager Selection
« on: June 17, 2008, 01:57:18 pm »
I thought I'd hop on the passing bandwagon and create a "My Spore Creatures and possibly other stuff come September topic".

How about we start with my latest creation, the Obeliscus.

It walks kinda funny, but looks good in my opinion and animates fairly well with the other stuff.
Here's the downloadable version so you can see, as my Youtube uploader thing sucks!

I won't update the first post as I'll just forget, but they'll be more on the way!

Spore: Creation Corner / [NG] The Slithe
« on: May 05, 2008, 08:29:07 am »
Meet my new creature!

The Slithe

As you can see, they don't have a head of sorts, but rather a beak on end of their long body and eye-limbs coming from just above the arms. Another thing they are missing is an obvious form of locomotion. They move similarly to some slugs and snails in that they produce a fairly slippery liquid from their underside. Then they contract and expand their tales while gripping with the non-moving part. Unfortunatly, this means they can't keep at a constant speed. Their hands have 2 fingers each, with both fingers being equally strong. Their eyes are like those security cameras you sometimes see. They can see through the dark, skin-like eye, but others can't see in. Although very similar to slugs and snails, they cannot hold themselves onto vertical surfaces. This is due to the large weight of their beak. The beak is used for hunting, and is very sharp. This is so that they can stab the prey with a Cobra-like attack.

Do you need/want to know anything else?

Console Games / Why now?
« on: April 09, 2008, 01:23:23 pm »
So earlier this week I discovered that my Wii has giving up playing the good old game of Smash Brothers. Not Brawl. Melee. My Gamecube runs it fine, but stick it in the Wii and it says "The Gamecube disk could not be read" then "Please refer to you gamecube instruction manual". I don't see why that would help as it's the wii being the butt about it.

I wouldn't complain if we had Brawl, but let's not turn this into a Europe and Australia gets screwed all the time thread like the Rockband thread.

I would love some help as Melee is the only relief from the Brawl wait and now I can't play it on the flat screen!

*paws at screenshots of Brawl like a cat wanting to come in.*

Spore: General / I want to start Roleplaying
« on: February 19, 2008, 09:18:56 am »
Sure this may belong in the stories and RPs section, but it's not a story or RP. It's a question.

How would I go about getting into the RP of this here forum?

I've designed my creature, though I've not thought about other things, only their looks. I used to roleplay in World of Warcraft, but never on a forum. Could someone tell me what kind of things I need and how I should introduce myself into the storyline.

Music / The ZREO Project
« on: January 11, 2008, 09:19:21 am »
A few days ago, my friend showed me this amazing website.

It's called Zelda Reorchestrated, (or for short ZREO) and they make MIDIs of some of the Legend of Zelda music. They then somehow convert it to a really realistic sounding, orchestra quality piece. They can describe it better than me.
Quote
The ZREO team uses high-end sequencer synthesizers to transcribe the sounds of legend. From there, the MIDI's created by our musical team are sent through sound libraries, where the computerized sounds are transformed into very realistic and believable orchestrated masterpieces that are must-haves for any Zelda fan!

Here's the link. Geddit? Link? Hah! I made a funny. Anyway, here it is. http://www.zreomusic.com/index.php

Everything Else / Gaming Steve Teamspeak?
« on: January 02, 2007, 09:56:03 am »
I was wondering, what would be better than chatting to all my friends on Gaming Steve. Then I thought that Teamspeak would be great! Then I remembered the downside, money. I thought who would be able to pay for it? Gaming Steve has a lot on his hands and it would be harsh just to dump the costs on him. Any single member of the forums wouldn't be suitable for the same reasons as Steve.

An idea hit me! Shareing the cost! Now a UK based 20 slot server costs £10. That is approximatly $20.

Then I thought maybe 20 slot isn't enough. An 100 slot is £50, which is about $100.
I would donate about £10 so we need 40 more.

Anyway, if anyone thinks this is worthwhile post so and why! Do the same if you'd rather not.

Portable Games / DS internet browser
« on: November 18, 2006, 01:07:45 pm »
I'm posting here from my DS, but because of the interface this won't be a long post.
It is awesome! There are a few bad parts though. 1) It takes ages to write anything and 2) You can't watch films and stuff.

*sigh* This has taken so long. Say what you want about it while I give my hand a massage.

Forum Games / Blankety-Blank!
« on: June 20, 2006, 08:41:41 am »
This is like that other one but without quotes.
You have to make a sentence with one blank in it.
The next person the make a funny suggestion to fill the gap, and then they make up a sentence.

Easy Peasy!

Everything Else / If the Egyptians stayed....
« on: May 24, 2006, 08:27:42 am »
At school today I was talking to some friends, and we wondered what the world would be like if the Egyptians survived.

Here's what we came up with:
Egyptian computers would have huge keyboards with every Hiroglyph on it. They are so big that you need to use a mallet to press them.
A passport the size of a large novel.

Let's see what you can come up with

Everything Else / My new cool language
« on: April 18, 2006, 01:38:52 pm »
My new language is mainly written.

You take the first 2 letters and swap them. Then you add them to the end. If the English is 3 or less letters you take out the first letter, find the next letter in the alphabet and add it to the end.

PC Games / Theme Hospital
« on: April 03, 2006, 09:59:34 am »
All I can say is that this is the best game I have probably ever played.
I recently installed it on my new PC and to my amazement it runs it fine!
Let's discuss this awesome game.

Site News / Banners
« on: March 22, 2006, 09:44:01 am »
Hi.

I have a banner in my sig but it doesn't work.
Of course I knew that it wasn't going to work so I thought I would ask if someone could turn it into something that does work.
So can someone?
Or are banners impossible on this forum?

Forum Games / Elbow Writing
« on: March 11, 2006, 01:28:52 am »
In this game you try to type a word with you elbows.
The next person has to guess what it is and post the next elbow writing.
EDIT: A maximum of 3 words is allowed

Eg.
Poster 1
                 hnjbgerlkloo9

Poster 2
                 Hello
                 kij sweiomnjh

It doesn't matter if you get it right or not.

PC Games / Radiant AI
« on: March 06, 2006, 08:17:31 am »
As most of you know Radiant AI is in the upcoming game Oblivion.
For the people who don't know what it is, it is basicly lets the NPCs decide what to do.

But this topic speculates what this could be used for in the future.
Personally I would love to see this in MMOs.

What are your ideas?

« on: February 17, 2006, 08:01:11 am »
In the Jolly Good Chinwag game. You talk really posh. You can use this translator http://www.whoohoo.co.uk/posh-translator.asp to turn you're talk into posh. The game part is trying to figure what the last person said.
The game starts now.
