Regarding galaxies, I saw in PC Gamer that there may be multiple galaxies? Or maybe it was just something the author said to emphazise the scaleof the the game, I dunno.

The first species I will make are the Decapodians! You know, Dr Zoidbergs species from Futurama? :)

Ok this sucks, is the texturing mode replaced by a small menu that lets you choose from pre-made textures?
If it is, then the fun factor is down with like 90%...
Texturing mode was always from pre-made textures, it's just now they have creatures with the textures as examples
 -- wait a second --
What they need to do is have YOUR creature in miniature AS THE EXAMPLE!

I don't think that would be that hard to do, do you?

Off to the wish list.

But in the earlier videos, you could choose from a scale of different colors, then apply a texture, then apply a pattern on that if you wanted to. Now, you could only choose a skin where everything is done. I want to be able to first choose color, then a texture, then a pattern, like in the earlier videos... As far as I can see this is not included in this version of the game.. :(

Now, I hope that this haven't been asked before, but I haven't really found an answer to my biggest question of all.
And that question is:

Will we be able to make say, 20-30 creatures, some floura etc., and then somehow "tell" the game that "These are my stuff, I want to use only this stuff when I play the main game on my planet!"
So basiclly, you make your own content, and then you play the game, evolve and enter the creature phase, and then the planet will already be inhabited by only your own creatures and include your floura and the like.

This is a question that I find important, because I don't want to wait until the later stages in the game before I can have full control over my planet! I want to "design" my planet before I go into the game with creatures and all that, make my "main creautre" (the creature I will be playing with), and play the game with my main creature seeing all my self-made content.

Hopefully you understand what I mean  :D

Spore: General / Blow up your homeplanet?
« on: February 05, 2007, 01:52:41 am »
We know that we're able to blow up planets, maybe even stars. These planets may include planets inhabited by amother intelligent civilization, friend or foe. This could be used as the ultimate weapon to wipe out hostile civilizations.
But what if I would blow up my own homeplanet? Not that I really would like to do that, but what if?
Let's say the planet is invaded by a superior enemy force, and you could wipe that force out by blowing my planet up, what do you think will happen?

Will Wright confirmed in the video with Brian Eno, that if you would get killled in creature phase you'll go back to the previous generation and start over from there (maybe this was confirmed before, if it has then I've missed it..). Maybe the same applies here?
Or could you, with the UFO you have and maybe abducted creatures of your own species, start all over on a new planet? Maybe land on a nice planet in the outskirts of the galaxy and rebuild and finally take revenge on the enemy that invaded your planet in the first place?

Personally, I prefer the later. It'll make it possible for the player to make his own "scenarios", as in this case start all over with the UFO as your tool. I think that is what I will do if I get bored in the space phase :)

What are your thought on this subject?
