Note: It's an older video (from March), but I'm sure you'll still like it.

Forum Games / Where am I? 2.0
« on: May 18, 2007, 06:48:27 pm »
A new game from Oviraptor! Now with updated rules!

In this game, I will post a picture from somewhere on Earth. This picture can be anywhere, from any angle. Everyone will get one guess at where it is (either by posting in the thread, or by sending me a PM), and whoever guesses the closest, wins. Because of this, you need not get the location right, just as long as no one else is any closer than you are. You may use whatever resources you think will hep to try and figure out where it is. I will leave it up for at least two days, so keep checking back. I will also keep track of the winner of each round.

If you win by being the closest, you get 1 point. If you get the location correct, you get 2 points. In the event of a tie, every winner gets the full point(s) earned.

After each picture I will post a bonus question. The question may be an additional photo, or something geography related. Answering this question correctly will earn you 1 point. If no one gets it right by the next round, the question is carried through each round until someone gets it right. Every new round a bonus question goes unanswered, it will go up by 1 point. Ties are handled in the same manner as regular points.

You only get one guess for each (WAI and Bonus) every round.

Author’s Note: While I still like my Oifan-Umtag, I just could never keep up with the RPing. Therefore, I lost interest. I would say unless a really get bored, the Oifan-Umtag are probably never coming back. So, without further ado, I present:

and the Sap Hammer: (click to enlarge)

Predators: They have no full predators, but the Skullface will eat the young or sickly animals. Skullface: (click to enlarge)

Much more info to come later! Enjoy!

Spore: Creation Corner / Sagan 4 Science Thread

We need a place to sort all the scientific details that come along with the My New Planet - Sagan 4 - Team Project. In this thread will can discuss all this stuff.

First, we need to decide how we classify all our organisms. Me and Krakow Sam have come up with these Kingdoms, now we just need to make the rest of the classification system.

Pronuclea: Bacteria. Yeah.

Photovora: Simple plants, they have little to no cell walls and have a very limited range of specialized cells.

Binucleus: Organisms with two nuclei per cell.

Primigena: Simple animals, they have a limited number of specialized cells, and reproduce asexually.

Floranimalia: Organisms that both photosynthesize and get energy from other organisms.

Bestiaria: Animals, they get their energy from other organisms and reproduce sexually.

Photoalumna: Plants, they have cell walls and a higher level of specialization.

Well, Gabbly and Yaplet are a bust.  Everyone is using IRC now.  Click here and hit Connect.

EDIT: Might be useful to post where we've moved to. Connect to with your IRC client, or click here for the web client. The channel is still called #gamingsteve.
