I don't think it's really a restriction that they programmed, instead, it probably has something to do with the fact that pretty much every single person who's trying out the CC right now tries to upload something to the sporepedia, which results in a massive server-overload  :-\

Spore: General / Sharing creatures
« on: June 17, 2008, 08:21:20 am »
I'm currently having the problem that when I click on the "share a creature"-button in the CC, nothing happens at all.  ???  Before that, I actually managed to upload one single creature but now it seems to be completely impossible to do so. Probably because of the high traffic there at the moment, but I wish the program would at least give me some sort of feedback on why it's not working - or in case it does,  how long it's gonna take until the creature has been uploaded to the sporepedia :-\

Anyone else here having this problem?

Considering the fact that Maxis is still working on Spore, I'd say it's a mockup... but then again, does it really matter how large it is?  ;)

Definitely going to try out the free trial version of the creature creator - but I honestly don't see a point in buying that full version of the editor for 10$ when it's going to be incorporated into the retail version of Spore anyway.  :P

well, that's a pretty awesome video - definitely one of the more creepy creatures from the editor so far  :)

maybe it all will be procedually genergated....

To be honest, I doubt that. During the GDC05 Will mentioned that "the computer could play with these settings too" which at that point sounded a lot like they would try to implement that feature. However, later I think they mentioned that content can only be added by players. I might also be wrong about this, anyone here who remembers what they said?

Spore: General / Confirmed: Brian Eno writes the soundtrack for Spore
« on: January 16, 2007, 07:25:38 am »
Don't know if this is actually something new (I used the search-function but didn't find anything related):
Today the german game-magazine Gamestar announced that Brian Eno will write the soundtrack for Spore:

http://www.gamestar.de/news/pc/spiele/strategie/spore/1467527/spore.html

".....It has now been announced that the british musician, composer and producer Brian Eno is responsible for the soundtrack of the simulation and is working closely with Maxis/Electronic Arts...."

PC Games / Re: Is the Oblivion Collector's Edition worth it?

it's pretty neat, but definitely not as good as the Morrowind Collector's Edition. I wish they would have added the soundtrack as well....  ::)

Battlefield 1942 is a much better, or at least much more fun, game than Ocarina of Time, if you ask me.

 ???

strange idea to compare those two games. And no, Ocarina of Time is waaaaay better than Battlefield 1942  ;D
