Spore: General / Re: Evidence of no more water creatures.
« on: August 26, 2006, 07:18:50 am »
You know, neither Will Wright, or any other person in Maxis or EA has ever stated any intention to release an expansion pack. It has never been implied or innuendoed that there will be a Spore expansion pack.

And yet you know that aquatic creatures (of which there is no evidence that they won't be in Spore in the first place) will be released in the first (of many, you say) expansion packs (of which no official source has mentioned.)

Can I borrow your time machine?

Not to mention the fact that, although the information listed here is great..  I'd say about 75% of everything here is conjecture, hope and desire.

So..  no time machine needed or required..  all that is required is time..

Okay..   depending on downward size limitations...  I really wanna try for something akin to Smurfs...  lol..  I kinda figure that it'd be funny as hell having a race of lil blue people bent on galactic domination...

Snorks...  same idea..  just underwater

The creatures from Dark Crystal..  I really wanna make the Mystics...

Anything else..  is going to be dependant on what abilitites we'll have when creating...

PC Games / Re: Creatures: Docking Station (Free game)

I still have my Creatures 1, 2 and 3 disks...  as well as massive amounts of downloads that probably are no longer available.

I stopped playing when the company had some issues, and they were reported to have gone belly-up (the main company, not the community that still supports it.)

I guess I'm glad to hear that they are still going.

If you have interest, I would suggest investing in the Norn Packs, if they are still available.  They're cheap, and although not needed in any capacity..  the additional Norns do make for fuller and more fun in game play.

Spore: General / Re: It's pretty much confirmed!

I'm new here..  but I've spent the last few days scouring any and all information I could find about Spore.

After listening to Steve's pod casts from last years E3..   the interviews with Will Wright..  there WILL be water worlds..  water environments, water societies..  etc.

I haven't seen anything official that goes against that...  so..  I would tend to think it's going to be possible.

Some other things I've found that would answer some of the other posts that I have read...

There are supposed to be mounts..  animals that you will be able to ride.
There will be lichens and moss on the planet(s).
There will be ruins, on planets you come across after the UFO is made.
There will be a plant editor after the UFO.
There will be genetic manipulation after the UFO.
There will be flight, but I have seen conflicting information on 'how' they will exist.  They will fly, according to Will, but their cities will be ground based (no flying cities.) But I read on a concept art page http://www.christianlorenzscheurer.com/htmlpages/games/SPORE/SPORE_index.html (official, I assume) that says something along the lines of the flying creatures having the ability to live high in treetops or in high-lying cliffs...

There will be radial creature ability, i.e., octopus and squids...

Well..   that's pretty much all I can think of to add..  and I hope that the information I have isn't outdated..  lol..   suck to come in so late to this..  but..  everything is just looking so friggin awesome..   I, like everyone else, is (im)patiently waiting for its release...
