That sounds like an interesting idea and it would make sense: How you do in your current generation should impact the number of babies.
Yeah that seems a good idea, let your progress determine the maximum amount of eggs, then from there it would be how well you gefend the eggs to see how many actually hatched like in one of the previews. Perhaps it could also depend on where you put the nest, seeing as if you are in a more secluded and safe spot your creature would feel more comfortable laying more eggs...

The whole egg defense thing reminds me of that mini-game part of a ooooolllddd floppy disk game Design-a-saurus

Spore: General / Re: Planetary Rescue Missions in Spore

Would be nice if in a coming expansion or in the game release version there were the possibilities for an alien race to land on your home planet and kidnap the leader of your race.

Take them back to their own planet as a prisoner. You would then have to plan a rescue mission to safely return your leader to your home world.

Just an idea anyway!

If I recall correctly, Steve actually talked about that exact thing in a interview with Will (either that or when he saw the design docs) so i do really think it is possible.

As for other missions, since you can leave your ship, maybe a scenario where your ship is busted and you must work with the native tribes to help either find the parts/or find a fuel source.

There are so many great Sci-Fi scenarios that could be reenacted in Spore...   ;D

I honestly don't see why you wouldn't be able to have more than one account on the same game, seems to me thats it's ALMOST a given nowadays. And I'm sure flagging content will be more than just a basic "I like this user". I think they'll let us mark specific creatures, buildings etc, and also have an option for users as a whole, like a buddy list of sorts.

Its also possible they just fell into the water and drowned... but as seen in the mini vid of all the new stages, they show the tribal creatures on the edge of the water, they wouldn't be there for nothing(and it looked like the were hunting/fishing for something)

Listen at 12:49 -- Humorous cover-up, or hints at a game feature?:

Will: "So here's a species on the planet, some kind of wild creature. One of the things I can do at this level is drop my monolith tool."

The monilith is dropped on a cliffside, next to a herd of creatures. Frightened, the creatures run down the cliff into the water.

Will: "Oh, they ran into the ocean. They were aquatic."
Hmmm interesting, we haven't seen anything of aquatic stages for a while, so who knows... I'm sure there will be some sort of amphibians at least though.

Another thing to not, though I'm sure it probably has little to do with actual gameplay, the advertisement for it at the last E3(I think thats when it was) showed the aquatic stage, so maybe it is still there... or at least the ability to have aquatic creatures...

The part where the big black squid-like creature ate Will's creature was cool. I liked how the wormy "slug" hurled mucus at the baby in an attempt to trap it and devour it.

In the space phase, the ability to get out of the UFO is awesome. But you'll risk getting killed by the planet's native predators.

Also a variety of celestial objects is awesome too.

Yeah and I still wonders what'll happen if you get eaten in the space stage.... perhaps just use another creature that is on the ship(assuming it's a multi personnel ship)

And with the celestial bodies, other than looking pretty, wonder what purpose they may serve, if any...

I noticed the cell stage really reminded me of FLOW. The fact that you get bigger and grow after eating things and then once you reach a certain size, the creatures in the background are now aware and interact with you (where as in FLOW you simply go down levels). I really like the new look of it though.

I think i mentioned that on page 2, it helps to read the thread your posting in.

Yes yes, I'm sorry I missed your post about it. No big deal...  :P

But yes its shaping up quite nicely... can't wait! :D

ok, so i think you can now confirm that you are able to have range attacks
Yeah I saw the worm guy spit out sludge haha. But yeah having a creature avatar is really awesome once in the space stage... getting worshiped by tribal creatures...Brings up an interesting question: What if a wild creature attacks you when you are beamed down and die?  ???
