Well I thought I would bite the bullet and post a sketch I just did a few hours ago that I like. Still have no name for the guy but I'll post a little synopsis of what I imagine their species evolution to be.
The BoncetriSo my creation started their evolution by crawling out of the seas of their homeworld as a two-legged simple creature with six eyes:

Through hundreds of thousands of years they slowly evolved a larger tale (for balance), the beginnings of a spiny ridge along their back and the six eyes spread apart and formed into three heads (Which allowed for easier catching of fish and their slightly longer necks allowed them to reach fruit from short plants they could not in the past). Along with this they developed a single arm which formed out of the center of their chest, usefull for handling food and grabbing it from the ground:

Fast forward and they grew larger, their eyes improving and legs becoming substantially more powerfull and thick. Also their split hooves gave way to a more versatile three-toe, flat foot that both gave them the ability of a crushing stomp or kick, and the balance needed for their larger frame. The tail elongated further and developed a heavy end that, while not really needed for balance, could be swing as a weapon. Their single arm split at the elbow and gave way to two forearms with their own hands which allowed for basic tools. Besides this their spine back ridge became more pronounced as a protection against attacks from above or behind. Even longer and multi-jointed necks gave full 360 degree view of their environment and opened up more foods for them to eat. This would be just prior to their tribal stage.

Their final look is basically what I have pictured above. Their skulls have grown for larger brains (Which are actually one working consciousness spread through three heads...it is complex but one could survive with only two after a decapitation but the mental trauma of loosing 1/3 of your self is too much for most to bear), the back spines have regressed as weapons, armor, and eventually machines made the need for their defence obsolete. Three toes gave way to five for even more agility and their single arm split to became two fully developed arms. Finlay the large end of their tale tapered off to a point as the defensive weapon was no longer needed:
Miscellaneous Information:Some general facts about the fully evolved Boncetri:
* They wear clothes and use advanced tools similar to our own
* Their civilization was once fractured and warring, but has since been united as one
* The three heads are not individuals, and no one is the lead though the central head is most often used. Conversation with a Boncetri would happen between all three as one stops another picks up where it left off
* Since their arms are not usefull for complex actions or able to reach all around their bodies the heads themselves, specifically their mouths, are used as hands. Like a dog uses his or her mouth to pick up objects, so do they. Sometimes the central head takes over all speaking while the other two work as arms and hands...like when in an external spacesuit. (Which lead to much confusion with first contact between them and an alien race. The aliens thought they had four arms and one head!)
Thanks for any feedback!!
