Why does a society in which hurling fireballs is commonplace need guns? The gun is an invention which follows on from gunpowder, which was invented as an explosive. If you can make explosions by magic then you dont need gunpowder and guns will never be invented. Its stupid.

The game already has alchemists, so in time they would discover an equivilent to gunpowder, and chemically propelled projectile weapons (guns) would be the replacement weapon for bows, perhaps not guns like ours... but guns none the less. Afterall the game has archers aswell as mages, so ranged technology would naturally evolve.

Modern day RPG is a good idea, but has problems inherent in the design... how would a troll stand up to an AK-47? My point... monsters wouldn't work, you would have human charactors all the way! the only way around this is an x-men style setting with mutants, but you are still really talking about humans.

Futuristic, now that has real posibilities, as monsters are instantly exchanable with aliens... rayguns ahoy :)

For me, this years highlight will be the new content on show for 'Hellgate: London' by Flagship Studios, they have a new character class to show off, and a new cinematic already confirmed... i can only hope a release date will be announced too (but probably not :().
