Everything Else / MUD/MMO idea

Topic about ideas for MUD/MMOs.



OK i have had a idea for a way to channel the communities power. After a player have archive a certain level (Pretty much have maxed out the character and probably gone though some very epic and hard to complete quest) a new phase opens up. The path of the demigod. Is really just the first stage but it allows PCs to gather worshipers and channel that power. The only limit to how much power a player can get at this stage is set by the number of followers he got. He will also be able to share his power to other who becomes his personal priests. Those there is a direct interest form worshipers to. The Demigod and his priest helps out wile the worshipers grants them there power. Would a Demigod lose worshipers then he would lose power to. Also due to the Demigod power is finite he must be careful how he shares his blessings. A Demigod can also not be all places at the same time so priest are very important due to that reason. I think it could be a interesting gameplay mechanic in MUD/MMOs and would give the hard core games both a reason to play beyond the normal roof of the game and build a better community.

Quit. One of my first creatures i made. The first one i really tried to make something out of. The name was suggested by the auto naming function in spore CC >_>


My Dragon like creature. I was originally trying to make a snake like creature but i did not like how it animated so it evolved in to this.


Gigaroth. My attempt to make a Titanic humanoid like monster. Turned out pretty well.


This little thing was a attempt to make a tiny creature in response to Gigaroth. It got a low profile and a scorpion like tail with a manipulator on.


Scorpion like creature i made. I like the coloring.


My attempt at a spider. This unlike the scorpion tries to be true to nature. Sadly it do not walk like a spider.


Trilateral symmetrical creature (radial symmetrical.) Based on a creature i that i have been toying around with. It even have a complex math system. (I wonder if still have those notes >_>)

The Goal is simple. Draw a Animal and mutate it to a monster. (Well you only need to draw the end result.) The goal is to make the most horrid creature one can come up with. All start with the same animal to mutate. The coolest monster will win after a vote. Winner decides on what creature to morph next. :)



No winners yet so i will start with a creature.

Size: Size of a small Insect (Common delivery unit)
Locomotion: Flying
Environment: Any. Even deep space
Diet: Computation capacity's (Host may have needs)
Social behavior: (Hive mind Intellect)
Lifespan: Ageless. (Host may die however.)

Phyr is a Artfical intelligence that use a network of computers to function. Not that unique really. But what make Phyr such potent is that Phyr can also infect biological creatures. In can literary interface with the brain of is biological host and reprogram it. Even removing the "bug" that carries the "Infection" will not stop it. Though it will prevent communication to the host. (If the host do not have a internal hyperlink system of its own.) Phyr most often do not take direct control of the host but let is have limited mental freedom. Most Host are not aware of Phyr and those that do become aware of Phyr often try to keep there masters existence secret. A host severed for Phyr seek to integrate them self again with the network ether knowing or unknowing of there state.

Phyr was Unknown for a very long time but have most likely been around for ages. Phyr have only recently managed to go beyond is child like state. Even with the Amazing computational power Phyr is believed to possess is intellect as a hole is not that extrema. Scientist that have been able to tap small parts of Phyr data stream believe that this is because inefficient but increasable robust programing. It seems that Phyr was made not to spreed as fast as possible but survive as long as possible.

Phyr was named after the outer rim homeworld of the Rithy. A race not believed to be totally under control of Phyr. The Planet Phyra is covered with great machinery and larger networks of supercomputers. The planet is heavy fortified.

Looking for players to play oWoD with me. Preferably a one that can act Storyteller (GM) so someone else can test out my new Java program. If anyone is interested please post.

We have not decided if we are going to do this via chat or play-by-post. If we are going to do it via play-by-post then we are going a GM that handles the roles (to prevent cheating) and tells the story. We are also going to enforce a minimum post per day requirement or you are at risk of losing your control to the GM or even getting kicked out of the game. We will of course have a option for players to go absents for long periods of time if they require it but the player should plan ahead and RP a valid reason for there characters absences.


What is World of Darkness?
For those of you that do not know what World of Darkness is it is a RP setting with is set in a alternative Earth. On the surfaces this world look just like our world but under the surfaces hides Vampires, Werewolfs and Mages. A world with a hidden supernatural facet to it. The rules is many ways are easier to learn then DnD.

Most WoD games are set in Modern Earth. However one get put the setting in any age. Dark Ages and Victorian/Western age is pretty popular to and there are several rulebooks that takes up specifically these eras.

A odd looking race that is believed to be intelligent. But no one is sure yet. Deep space scouts in a remote location are the ones who first reported these creatures. Some do not even believe they existed.

This new creature is something i just improvised the hole way. Even the parts its made of are improvised. I need help colouring it and pointing out what is what. See you self as researchers trying to finding a new alien species. :)

The easiest question to answer about Warhammer is the one Iím going to answer. You can answer it with one word or one million words. My answer is somewhere between those two. What is Warhammer all about? If you have some common sense, the name should give you a hint. Itís not about love. Itís not about compassion. Itís not about hugs and care bears. Itís about War. Never ending war that is everywhere, always forever. That is why you wonít have /dance emotes in WAR. No one dances in the middle of a war! The races of warhammer are like helpless kitties about to fall of a roof, using all of its power to hold on to the edge but despite all its efforts, itís still slowly moving towards its doom. In such a position, the kitty doesnít waste time to dance. In the same way the races of Warhammer either do everything they can to survive (the races of order), or do everything they can to kill the ones that are trying to survive and play football with their skulls (the races of destruction). When you see it like that, you understand why you wonít be baking bread, sewing skirts and picking flowers in WAR. The quests, the crafting, the PvP, the PvE, the Raids everything, EVERYTHING you do has something to do with war. Crafting you say? Well, swords, armour, spell scrolls and stuff that helps the war yes. Trousers flower bouquets, Necklace's and cute pink ponies no. When it comes to quests, itís the same. You wonít get quests like '"Little elf boy" lost his football. Kill 10 wolfs and return the football to "little elf boy".' Quests will be about war. Everything from the starting quest for Chaos when you collect ammo (body parts) for the Hellcanons to fire at an Empire tower. Thatís about war. The war will make WAR interesting. The everlasting conflict between order and destruction, where the line between good and evil is so blurred that evil and good is defined depending on which perspective you look at it. Thatís what WAR is and what is going to make it great. If you do not like playing a hero killing thousands and thousands of people and hanging elf ears around your neck, donít play the game. IF you think skulls are silly and violence in games is bad and unnecessary, do not play the game. If you think games should be educating and sophisticated without offending content, dont buy it. This game is about fun, War and bringing one of the best and most complex fantasy world to life and letting you play it. Itís a game. Games are supposed to be fun. Nowadays they also include socialising. That means you have fun with your friends. In the case of WAR, you team up and kill other people, but itís for fun and for some reason killing people together with your friends in an MMO is one of the funniest things you can do. War will take that and a lot more to the next level. In fact, I think they take that at least three levels higher, making everything you do in the game matter. In MMO's nowadays you do stuff you think is boring to level up and be able to do fun stuff. However, in war the stuff you do to level up is also fun and do mean something and affects the rest of the world in the game. Many of you have probably heard about RvR. Realm versus Realm. Thatís what Mythic is trying to capture, realms fighting against each other. The RvR is fought in Instances, Battlefields (non-instanced open PvP) and other sorts of PvP were you win victory points that affect your whole realm. If you gain victory points, you are able to push your enemy back and capture the zone you fought over. If you keep pushing them back you will finally get to their capital, and a missive siege will break out were many things is involved. You will have quests inside the battle that is about the battle, you will destroy the buildings and primarily, you will kill other players! The other players will of course fight back, because when a capital is besieged players from the whole world rushes to the city either to bring it down or to protect it. The fun thing with war is that everything you do also affects the victory points so that everything matters. And whatís even better is that you are never forced to do anything. You can level through PvE as normal, but you can also level through PvP and never do anything else then PvP if thatís your cup off tea. All of this boils down into what I think is going to be the greatest most groundbreaking game that will make all games before it look like a day in the park with purple reindeers and cuddly kitties. That about sums it up. Now you know what WAR is all about.

As most of you know i whant to create a Mars colonly. Some of you might know that i also plan to build a underwater empire here on earth (and it could probly help us when we try to colonize Europa the moon)

So it begins



Pual and William meet to discuse the situation that has bin trubling Neogen.

William: "We know about the sabotage that has happened here. We have even heard that some of your experiments have excaped. Pentex whants to take over the resreach now. You will send us specimen Ajax-310 to Ajax-320 to start."

Pual: "You can not do that! We have work long and hard with is project. You can not jus..."

William: "Yes we can. Schattenwolf Foundation have decided to back us in this matter and no longer protect you. They seams very Worried that what is going on here would leak out in to media. And i was you i would be to."

Pual: "And i guess you going to do your own experiments now or even terminate them?"

William: "What we do with the Specimens is none of you business. Were taking over now. And why do you care anyway? Was not the Ajax batch a failure anyway?"

Pual: "I do not know how you conviced Schattenwolf to suport you. Now go out of my sight!"

William and his Pentex workers start to fix with tranportation.

William: "Well many these speciments need to be terminated. Ajax-311, Ajax-313, Ajax-316 and Ajax-320 have developed to far and may be a risk. Terminate them and harvest them for parts when they get to our new lab."

Worker: "Yes sir. Just let me send the order and all should be when they arive"

Worker picks up his PDA and start writing then start to load the specimens on the trucks.

Specimen Ajax-313 is loaded with Ajax-312. The transports start to move and drives down the road from the neogen reserch that is situated close to the sea on a cliff. The trucks drive down the road when suddanly the transport with Ajax-312 and Ajax-313 lose controle and drive off the steep road. The Truck crashes down in the the tress below. The other trucks stops for a wile but realise they can not do anything to help the workers. worker: "There dead. No one can have surived that fall. We better call for help then get going to the new lab" The convoy contiues.

But all did not die. Ajax-313 surived. A little wonded he still manage to climb out of the wreckage.

Little bit later William hears about the accident.

Willam: "Damn it! This was not accident! And those idiots left the site would investigating the it. Bah.. What a human do not surive thies creatures might! Call in Raizin Itake and his team."

Bodyguard: "Yes sir."

Ok im rewiring the first page.



Setting

The year is 2016. On a small island the carbian with a big city call New Jamestown lays the Neogen reserch center. The Neogen have started done extensive resreach on genetic hybrids and chimras. There technological progress have bin unequal for the past copple of year and New Jamestown have prosperd for seveal years now. Most of this tropical paradise is now own by Pentex which also owns Neogen since they bought them up in 2002 after finacial problems.

New Jamestown even if it turing in the hongkong of the caribian islands still have a lot of slums. Outside of NJT there are topical foresters and farms. Many of the farms are owned and operated by Neogen where new hybrids are tested.



So how do Werewolfs, Weresharks and Wereraves fit in to this? Well Neogen have bin experimenting on improving not only plants. They have also experimented with humans. When searching the genpool of several millions of indivutals duing the late 90s they found something odd. Something that look like a Interspecies Chimira. Sinces then they have made there mission to unreavle this mystory and with the backing of Pentex gotten very close.



This will be a RP where the main mission will be surival for the Werecreatures. The Seconddary mission will be to ether flee form the island or to overthrow the leaders of the island.

The other faction will the faction of Neogen and Pentex. Hunters, Posbly Vampires and Fomori will be in there ranks. There mission will be to kill or caputer the Werecreatures.

If anyone is intersing send playing in my game please send in you chacters as fast as posible. (Try not to make a Vampire or Fomori.)

PS: there is no need to come from the island



Some more infomation about the relationship betwine Neogen and Pentex.

Remeber when i said Pentex owned Neogen? Well this is not totaly true. Sure there the biggest owners with 49% of the company but still do not have a majorty on there own.

34% is owned by Schattenwolf Foundation. Based in Switzerland it has bin very hard to see who is really behind Schattenwolf Foundation. What is known is that it got ties Wolf Dynasty, a rich famliy of bankers and Aristocrats that dates back to the middle ages.

17% is still owned by Pual Pluton the son of one of the orginal founders of Neogen. Pual Pluton have hade a hard time running the company and have almost lost controle of it. Still he manange to have some infulance and togather with the Schattenwolf Foundation. He have and Schattenwolf Foundation mange to stop Pentex from messing to much with the company.

So there we are. No one hase enought power to controle the company on there own. Will Pentex be able to absorb Neogen? Will Schattenwolf

Name: Echin
Closest earth equivalent: Spider Octopus hybrid
Size: Start out as a small little creature but grows with age to colossal size. Never stops growing until it dies.
Locomotion: Hovering with hydrogen sacs and use jets of air to move around. Also have small wings for steering. At very young age or when depleted of Hydrogen it move with the help of is tentacles arms.
Environment: Forest, Open plains, Deserts, Mountins, Subterran, Coastal areas, Arctic areas.
Diet: Omnivore.
Social behavior: Old culture was base by rule from a consul of Elders. After the ∆thiran conquest they where intergraded in ∆thiran culture.
Lifespan: The Echin do not age in a normal sense just grow larger. There sometimes do get Old age diseases that need to be cured and they sometime willing fade away. A few also use biotechnolgy to stop there growth.

Generally Biology

Echin is by far one of the more odd creatures that lives in the universe. I have 6 tentacles arms with extream flexibility and 2 harpoon arms for capturing is pray. It got 6 eyes that gives it excellent vision. There have sensory organs for Smell Touch Taste Sight Hearing and even Electromagnetic sense. Mandibles that can cut almost any pray in half and that can shot a charge electricity betwine them. They also work as a communcations organ as they send out Electromagnetic  pulses that other Echin can read. The Echin also can change color which used as a Secondary way to communicate as well as helping them hide. There third way to communicate is with sounds but most Echin have a hard time to relate to sonic communication. The Echin have a spinner sacs at the back of there opisthosoma (to borrow a spider ) which they use to spin nets. Often not for huntting but for protect they young and to store there food. Early Echin also use these threads to create tools. Echin hovers with the help of Hydrogen filled sacs that are contain in the opisthosoma. Echins can also spew forth the hydrogen in a spray in for of it igniting it with is Mandibles. This is however very taxing and the Echin is at risk of losing it ability to hover if is expends to much. Echin have develop a very heat resistances because of this. There also resistant to cold and as good as immune to Electricity. Their metabolism is very fast and can regenerate any bodypart as long as the central nervasystem is still somewhat intact. Their Cell biology have bin described by ∆thiran Technomancers as being almost like a growing cancer and is hard to understand how the body still manage to be stable. Echin however have a few weaknesses because of there biology. Their organs are thightly packed and if the outer shell is breach is easy to do a lot of damage to them. Fire can also ignite the hydrogen sacs that have a small risk of exploding. There fast metabolism is subassembly to poisons and disease. To controle all body functions the Echins have a very large and advanced brain.

The Jinnivons are a aquatic creature that have 4 fins, 1 tail, 4 tentacles and 2 eyes. There small but swims fast. Ther mouth is hidden behind their tentacles. It use both there tentacles and is tail to hold and manipulate things. Jinnivons comes in all colors.

General culture

Jinnivons general try to say away from each other. Almost every Jinnivons have a area which they them self have bin declared guardians over.† The Guardian ship comes almost insticual so there is very uncommon for there to be fights over areas. If there is a conflict a emergency consul is often announced and that is about the only time Jinnivons ever meet each other with the exception of mating and the early family group. Some Jinnivons youth says in small groups even when they get older. This renegade groups often means trouble and guardians do anything to try to kick them out of there territory. If the groups becomes to hard to handle for one guardian consul is put in setion. Rangers are then sent out to put them down.

Rangers are the a select minatory of warriors that exited to protect Jinnivons from other Jinnivons. There the only onces aloud to travel over a guardians area. They seek out renegades and put them down. It can be anything from a guardian that threaten other guardians or old youth bands that try to take controle. Rangers often works alone but have a little more contact with others due to the traveling. Still they try to live alone. Rangers train all there life in combat, hunting and stalking. This makes them a formidable foe. Guardians do ofthen do not have the time to train in combat and renegade youth bands often do not have the discipline so is not hard to see why Rangers are both feared and respected at the same time. Renegade rangers are very uncommon.
