as long as it's the first of many, im happy
My guess is that there will be five. This DLC is worth 50 Gamerpoints so five bits of DLC would bring the points total for Mass Effect up to the standard 1250.

I'm looking forward to this, I love Mass Effect.

I can't comment on the Grindhouse thing having not seen Planet Terror - I really don't like the look of the film. I have seen Death Proof though and I thought it was AMAZING.

It's a Tarantino movie through and through - lots of characters just shooting the breeze and the same attention to detail one expects in both script and direction. It's as good as anything else he's done in my opinion. It seems to be a bit more light hearted than some of his films but it's pretty gritty as well. If you like his stuff you should see this film.

I really loved the soundtrack as well - hopefully this film's rather muted reception will prevent the songs getting ruined by being used in adverts all the time.

Oh and on Live I hear more cussing and CHILDREN playing than I do on my PS3!  When I play Warhawk or COD4 on my PS3 there are MATURE people playing not like all the little ones cussing and being stupid say in Halo 3!
That's probably just because they all have headsets whereas on PS3 they don't!

PS3 has a lot of potential I think, I just hope it realises it soon. It's an odd criticism about the 360 being more of a multimedia console though becasue the PS3 seems far more geared towards the multimedia side of things than the 360, what with the Blu-Ray drive and all. Although Microsoft obviously does have plans in the entertainment department too.

Both consoles do things well and things badly, it's all down to personal opinion at the end of the day.

Yokto I think you're right to be a little wary of the game - on paper the game doesn't really look to do much that hasn't gone before. But I do think you're underestimating just how well it does these things. The coversation system is, on the whole, really well handled and the quality of the animation and voice acting is about as high as it gets. It's the sort of thing you can really get into, especially if you like your sci-fi.

It does have its problems though. It has a rather, hmm, unusual inventory managment menu that takes a while to get used to. It has repetetive side quests and the main quest is short. Etc etc.

But I have to say that while playing through the game I hardly noticed any of that. I was completely absorbed in the universe (which is wonderfuly detailed), the story and the characters. The side quests are fun because the off-roading in the vehicle is fun and because the combat is fun. The decisions made in the game have emotional effects as much as gameplay effects on the whole. Plus the artwork is, to my mind, staggering. I'm totally in awe of this game.

There are a lot of people though who weren't into the good bits enough to overlook the bad and for them the game felt like a massive fail. It all comes down to personal opinion. Frankly I think you'd be sold on the game by now if you were going to be.

I understand that people feel cheated by not being able to land on planets - there they all are on the screen after all. But think about it, there's a reason why we can't just land on any planet. If it's close to the sun the temperature would kill anything, some planets have crushing atmospheric pressure etc. It would actually be pretty weird to land on every planet. You don't expect to land on the sun for obvious reasons but some planets are impossible to land on too.

I'm in, even though I'm not around here as much as I should be.

Jane Pinckard talked about the friends-of-friends idea on her blog site thing ages ago. I wonder if that's a coincidence.

I recommend the Conflict: games - Desert Storm I and II, Global Storm and Vietnam. They're not technical showcases but they're really great games. You control a squad of guys - sniper, heavy weapons, demo and rifleman - nothing too mind blowing. But you get a huge amount of freedom to approach missions and being creative and resourceful on the battlefield actually pays off. Vietnam is probably the weakest, the Desert Storm games are best. They're my most played co-op games.

I do.

You need either:

A: Your eyes testing...
B: A doctor!
C. A shower curtain.

According to the books, the MC is 41 years old. Sorry guys, but the fiction has that one covered. With brown hair. As a kid he had freckles and a gap between his front teeth.

He was also described as being freakishly pale when out of his armour due to never catching any rays. Hey - it's tough to look your best after months of war.

If you played Halo 3 then you remember the last level. That was the most useless piece of junk ever created. It was nothing but panels as far as the eye could see. I felt that i was driving on like a keyboard. I think its some sort of Forerunner Panel land.
Hahaha awesome. They sould have called the level that.

This is unrelated but important...
I have an enough Live cards to last me about a year, but, My 360 is upstairs and i have a wireless router. The 360 has no USB port so i cant plug in a receiver and stringing a 60 foot cord along the celling only to realize that the "wireless" router has no plugs for it is a pain. If anyone can help me I'd be in debt for like...forever. I have halo 1,2,3 and have been missing out.

You can buy an Xbox 360 wireless adapter. It plugs into the 360, er, USB port at the back.
Here you go:

(It's Nintendo)

Ps3 needs games and Price drop, Nintendo needs some more games and more Mario and SSMB, MS need a game starring Roger Moore.
Hahaha oh no!

I'm not expecting too many surprises at all really, but then they wouldn't be surprises if I was expecting them! Sony really needs a good showing, obviously. I hope Microsoft announces that Europe will get half the stuff the US Marketplace does. I'd love to watch some TV shows :(

Nontendo I suck needs to come out with some goods - a nice RPG for 'proper' gamers and a few proven applications like Wiintendogs or something would be nice. I'd like a new Starfox personally.

Everyone raves about the CoD series so far but I've never dabbled because I'm not a fan of WWII games. The prospect of the same winning formula transposed into a more palatable setting has certianly piqued my interest.

I thought it was really great too. Their show Spaced is probably my favourite thing ever made so this had a lot to live up to. I thought there were some bits where it stalled a little bit but on the whole it was pretty brilliant with lots of nice set ups and gags in almost every line. Very good stuff.
